  1. Well, from the looks of the vote so far, I don't think I'm going to bother the clan admins at this time concerning Fallout 76. I know there are 4 days left in the poll, but with developing news and the community's majority reaction, I'm thinking that it would be easier to start a Skyrim multiplayer clan server than to get anything with FO76 going, and since the Skyrim multiplayer mod is still in pre-beta, that's damn near impossible.
  2. I'm keeping an eye on further developments for this. It's definitely not gonna be right away.
  3. So, given some recent developments with Fallout 76, I've been toying with the idea of talking with the admins about adding the game to the XI clan servers list. The recent development being this: https://bethesda.net/en/article/3r1YDnDtyO1CtNFbJX6RBJ/fallout-76-fallout-1st-launch However, I'm trying to consider every angle about this before I broach the subject with the admins. One of the biggest things is the general opinion of the XI community. If the community as a whole doesn't like the idea, then I won't bother. If you do, then I'll message admins for discussion. But I want everybody's opinion on this, the whole community, from normal players to clan members right up to the admins. There is a lot in that article to consider, but the details are only important if people are interested. So what do you think?
  4. I've never gotten very far in Thaumcraft, just enough to make thaumium for use in Tinker's Construct, but playing through this and other modded servers I have to say one thing: the content of mods are worth the effort you put into them, even if they have an inherent risk. Sometimes it can feel like a bit much I know, but it's a universal axiom that can be applied for everyone, regardless of their stage of play. It makes no sense to provide something like your proposal that's pretty much just for endgame achievers, on the basis that it can only provide benefit for a small group instead of all members. The re-implementation of /market I do agree with, though with what I know of the admin and mod staff it's probably already in the works. If it's anything like the last server iteration, features we had before will be introduced in stages as the staff working on it finds the time, and we're not to the stage of fully setting up /market and shops yet.
  5. Oh trust me, I'm used to being the wise adviser in a room full of idiots. I'm often the cleric in my D&D group. You know, the one who usually says "That's probably not a good idea"? And then often having to facepalm and drag them out of whatever sticky mess they leapt into.
  6. Thank you everyone. This should be interesting... ?
  7. I looked up his username, and it seems he's already been banned, so it looks like the mods/admins are on top of things. But now you see why I'm so guarded about letting people build on my base. In your case it just happened to be a worst case scenario player who took advantage of your trust. Too bad I couldn't have warned you about this idiot beforehand though. He was starting to garner a rather unsavory reputation. Constantly annoying other players, ignoring set boundaries, setting warp pages at other players bases without permission, etc. The fool actually attacked me next to my base because apparently I got too close when he was mining out what was left of a skystone meteor, then proceeded to tell me that I had no say in the matter because it wasn't claimed. The whole thing struck me as incredibly rude because A: It was RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF MY CURRENT CLAIM, and B: it was in an area I was waiting just another hour at the time to claim when I had enough blocks to do so. iExo was with him, and he got out of there quick, didn't want anything to do with this altercation. I stayed online a few hours more than I had intended, because I watched him set a warp page and then tp away. I already dealt with thieves and trolls and a stolen ME before, and I sure as hell wasn't going to again.

  9. Damn, that's a little disappointing. Oh well, at least I can continue how I have been. I'll probably make a space station, maybe a base on Deimos, but that's about it for space stuff for me.
  10. Actually Slacker, the 1.7.10 version of Extra Planets did get a backport update, and is included in the update of the 1.7.10 modpack. If it actually fixes the code bugs for Venus and Saturn though, that is a question that can only be answered with time and testing. I'm gonna maintain a level of cautious optimism on this one.
  11. I'm curious to know what other people think of mods outside of Minecraft. Now I myself am an avid modder for various games like Saints Row 3/4, Fallout series, Elder Scrolls series, and Unreal Tournament, in addition to being a mod author for a few mods on Fallout 4. As such, I find mods to be almost an absolute necessity after I have completed a playthrough of a game. As I see it, they can and do expand on the games world and playability, thus extending the life of something I enjoy. I've been through the entire gambit of mods, from the expansive to the hardcore, the detailed to the bugfix necessities, the fan favorites to the perverse, and everything in between. (On that last note, there are different levels of perverse, some of the bottom ones even hardcore modders as I do not care to tread and wish didn't exist.) Still, I want to know the community's opinion. What do you think of mods? Do you have any favorites?
