This is strictly bolts only, no hand guns, nades, or any other killing type perks.
What you get:
- selection of the 4 bolt rifles (no scopes)
- option of bayonet attachment
- selection of 2 perks
(loadout will show handgun and nade but they don't work, there by default)

Oh, and there's throwing knives too.
The rifles are set high, 1 shot kills.

Maps running are just the stock maps for now.

This is awesome, and thanks Merlin. I think bolts only is the reason it has been short lived  Almost no-one likes bolts (well except USS Mankind) that's why I was thinking specifically about semi-auto rifles and maybe the stg-44 would be a good compromise. 

That, plus the removal of 'nuisance' perks and weapons is tactical but still fast moving enough. I love DM3, but there when a few players are Larsin-ing all over the place it is just not fun.

Anyway, I'll take a look at the server you set up, and happy Sunday!

Hi there XI folks. I've been thinking about how great it would be to have a server that:

1. Rifles only, either bolt, semi-auto or STG-44.

2. No betties, no martrydom, no rocket launchers no grenade launchers. 

These 2 things would make for a great slower-action game that is very different from DM3.

Ok, make it happen. Pretty please. :)

I'll be more precise, as I cannot totally understand what you are saying. 

I only play on the World At War XI custom maps server (I believe there are a couple) And I have been playing COD 5 since it came out over 12 years ago.  I'm not a noob, and I am certainly not a stranger to the COD 5 community.

I have thick skin and don't mind bad language, and insults are part of the fun. 

What chaps my ass is right-wing crazies spouting endlessly about liberals and baby klillers and Pelosi and socialism and all that pathetically uninformed crap. 

To paraphrase what someone very wise said in this thread:

   You can be a shitty angry old white man pretty much everywhere. The XI COD5 servers are among the few left where you  can play COD5 online.

Exactly the knee-jerk reaction I was expecting.

I used to play a lot of COD5 on XI. Left after the non-stop miserable political crap some of the players spew.

Came back again over the last week and it is worse: a bunch of people saying ignorant angry inaccurate crap.

And I shouldn't have to mute all these players each game.

I hope some kind of moderation is put in place so the server is enjoyable again--leave the ridiculous angry political shit at the door.
