  1. Thanks for posting. Good and sobering watch.
  2. Great points! I just have to imagine that Activision could figure out how to profit on active, loyal gaming clans like XI that want to play the old titles. I find it surprising that Activision is just not clever enough how to market this angle is all or that they have deemed it a "not profitable enough" effort.
  3. I agree with you. My point though is that groups like XI for instance are not the audience that the new games are targeting. Activision is trying to go for the bigger-better-faster- more thrills as they market to the younger players and the console gamers. This group here represents an underserved market in that we prefer the older games that we feel were designed right within a historical context or whatever. Activision still needs to recognize that the mature gamer is a viable market that they can serve...whether through new maps, server hosting, rebooting old titles, whatever. We have market share!
  4. What cracks me up about this is it a sign of a very successful product! 12-13 year gaming platforms with this loyal of a mature adult following are, I would think relatively rare. Take "Yes" for an answer Activision and cater to this market. Plus we are more addicted and have more financial resources. Geesh!
  5. Also, interesting that this article just came out touting WaW as the best of the COD series. Not sure how credible the author is in this age of fake news though. https://www.cbr.com/call-duty-wwii-shooter/
  6. Maybe this has something to do with the recent change? Next COD maybe a World War 2 reboot... https://dotesports.com/call-of-duty/news/call-of-duty-2021-rumored-to-potentially-be-set-during-world-war-ii-according-to-leaks?utm_source=onesignal&utm_medium=automated&utm_campaign=news
  7. Thanks all for the welcome. For the record Major-Mark, the drink of choice is Bourbon Whiskey...Like Makers Mark which your name always reminds of!
  8. I whole-heartedly agree that the XI servers are a different breed of gamers. I recall the first time I jumped into a FTAG game, after being a die-hard CTF player for years. I had no idea of what was going on, but I quickly figured it out with quick support and help from fellow games and became converted because the big difference on the XI servers is the amazing teamwork and communication displayed. It is real live tacticians working together which is pretty cool and actually fairly rare. I found this much more stimulating than the run and gun style play with the CTF server I was on previously....and not to be named. Got a good thing going here XI!
  9. Hey All- Been a regular on the Freeze Tag and Free for All sites and decided that I should join up and in appreciation of all the great people here and the great games. I have been a FPS gamer since the original COD. Have them all on CDs. Got into Multiplayer gaming with COD2 and joined the now extinct, American Generals Clan...hence the name GEN_Morgan. The rules there were you had to take a former US General Name as your user name when you joined the clan and I took mine from General Daniel Morgan, a legendary sharp shooter and guerilla fighter from the US revolutionary war. The movie "The Patriot" is very, very loosely based on Daniel Morgan and the Battle of the Cowpens for you history types. Speaking of, I am a WW2 history nerd and have seen most movies on the subject and have a pretty extensive book collection as well. Love the XI group here and have met and gamed with many cool people from all over the world. Best memory so far is being called a "Poxy Plank". Best put-down I have ever heard. Many of you can figure out who that came from. Glad to be here and hope to join up. Cheers and thanks for the opportunity. -GEN_Morgan
