Hello from Detroit, where the weak are killed and eaten...j/k
I've been playing on XI sever for a while now, have had many good games. Thought I'd make and account and formerly introduce myself. Anyway, a little about myself: I'm 44, married since 1988, 2 kids 22 and 20. I enjoy brewing beer and growing hops, urban farming, art and history. I come from a family of Marines (I never served). Both my grandfathers fought with the 1st USMC in many battles including Guadalcanal, Pelelu, New Britain and many of the maps we play in this game. I suppose it was inevitable that grew up a WWII history nut.
The history is probably the biggest reason why I play this game because I'm not really a "gamer". In my life there has really only been 3 PC games, Age of Empires, Battlefield 1942 and CoD. I was pretty good at BF1942 and also got pretty fluent with CoD and UO, played a little CoD 2 but then went back to UO and played it for years up until W@W and I had a rig that could run it which was actually late last year..lol.
I spent 3 years playing as [FS]RooflessKilla with [FS] clan which I eventually walked away from. I joined for the friends I met there after I was originally attracted to their mod which was a sort of uber R&R version of modern weps for UO. I still love that mod and I love my old [FS] buddies. I left for several reasons including suspicion of antisemitism after they changed their logo to what looked like a Nazi deaths-head insignia. I overlooked poor leadership in favor of good fellowship for a long time but that was the final straw.
Anyway, I finally switched over to W@W last year and then my comp died and it's only been since you all have been seeing me on XI that I have gotten back into the game. Most of the maps are new to me but I can slowly feel my former rooflessness beginning to come back thanks to all the good games I've enjoyed on this server.
