  1. Yes, theres two kinds of bottom boards, the bottom brood box sits on the bottom board. 1 is screened and the other is solid, each bee keeper has his own idea about each one lol. some say its a sin to have a screened bottom board and others think its the best thing since sliced bread, but theres tons of ideas on what should happen in the winter .
  2. It can get in the teens, but for the most part its in the 20,s at night and low 40s to low 50s during the day
  3. What i meant to say i guess, my bottom board is screen, i still have the top vented and the front door is still wide open. Do you think i should block the bottom board screen or leave it. If i do block it, they still have the front intrance and the top vent!! It can get down in the teens with high humidity!! at times
  4. Well, its my first year and first winter, just looking into shutting the screen bottom board for the winter or not, and just to see who all has them. Around Charlotte NC, the hobby seems to be taking off!!
