  1. Tball Something stinks this team (navy seals) had since last august to get this right WE WANTED HIM ALIVE. The hair on the back of my neck are standing up something about this story just don't seem right Tball; I my opinion he is much better dead. Dead is dead, an ending of some sort to at least Bin Laden. True, he may be martyred but at least he is a dead martyr. True, retaliation is likely. Were he taken alive he would remain their leader. Incarcerated or not. And what we do with him? Trust our justice system? I think not. I also have little doubt many pro-American hostages would have been taken to be used as negotiation tools and made to suffer brutally at the hands of the Taliban. They would have made Abu Ghraib look like a vacation retreat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baghdad_Central_Prison I just think dead is the best option available. Not saying perfect, just the best option. Neither option is perfect.
  2. Enjoy the moment. Of course someone will step in and take his place. Of course we will probably be on a high security alert. Of course Obama will slant his speech so he gets some credit. But lets face it, revenge is sweet. USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! It is a moment for us to enjoy and reflect on those who lost family and friends on 9/11.
  3. I hope they tortured the bastard to death. If we do it right we should feed his body to the pigs.
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-13256676 Obama about to hold news conference and they would not say why. My guess is that it's true.
  5. So, then I guess girls can't play ball..............
  6. Freaking amazing catch!
  7. My daughter just sent me a e-mail message which included a link to a song which is also representative of the support I am receiving from my family and both guests and members of XI. I felt I would post it here. In time I will provide more detail of what we went through. I think in time it will be good for me to talk about it. Thank all of you for your kind words and prayers.
  8. I want to take a quick moment to thank all of you for kind, gracious and concerned replies. I assure you it does help. I find that a community like this is a better support group than anyone can imagine. Today I have taken care of what immediate business needs to be addressed but I sort of dread the gap with not much to do. E-mail and posts have been a good release and some comfort, it just helps expressing things. Right now I would not do to good talking about it. Handling necessary matters has been difficult enough. Don't even ask about being in a empty house, I would not wish it on anyone. With the help of family and friends we will get through this. I have yet to meet with my grand kids, some old enough to understand but maybe not accept.
  9. It is with my deepest regret that I must tell you I lost my wife of over 40 years to a sudden and unexpected illness last night at mid-night. I find my self typing here as a form of accepting the facts and grief relief by sharing my burden with the friends I have made at XI. My family was with me throughout the day Sunday and we leaned on each other for support. I hope this does not seem odd but there are just times you need to communicate, I find this is one of them. In memory of Diane Carlson 4/25/2011
  10. Hey Bush, glad to here you may be on track PC wise. My very best wishes to you and your wife on the health issues.
  11. Speaking of illegal activities.............. For most my business trips I stay in Holiday Inn properties. Of late the download speeds have been horrendous. .3 - .4 Mbps. And they have the audacity to advertise "High Speed Internet Available" Needless to say this does not help in gaming and downloading maps. I placed a complaint with HI and was told that many hotels have governors in place to restrict download speed because guests are downloading movies and HI is concerned that Warner Bros may sue them based on activity from their IP's. Do not know if that is a crock of crap or what but it is what I was told. Bottom line, goodbye Holiday Inn, hello Choice Hotels whose speeds have been better. And don't even get me started on how inconvenient it is to get to a person within HI who has some authority relative to the issue.
  12. Let me re-post in MB instead of KB to remove confusion: Download 27.73 Mbps Upload 6.33 Mbps
  13. I already have Comcast Cables Triple Play but I do not know the breakdown to say how much of the total bill is for cable. I may just call them to see how much additional I would be paying to upgrade to 105. Download speed Chicago from Philly: Last Result: Download Speed: 27738 kbps (3467.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 6334 kbps (791.8 KB/sec transfer rate) Using Speakeasy: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/
  14. Those of you who are Comcast customers might find this of interest. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2383592,00.asp
  15. Taken from History.com: The bloodiest four years in American history begin when Confederate shore batteries under General P.G.T. Beauregard open fire on Union-held Fort Sumter in South Carolina's Charleston Bay. During the next 34 hours, 50 Confederate guns and mortars launched more than 4,000 rounds at the poorly supplied fort. On April 13, U.S. Major Robert Anderson surrendered the fort. Two days later, U.S. President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation calling for 75,000 volunteer soldiers to quell the Southern "insurrection." http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history
  16. They are not afraid to show that guns are part of our heritage! David Ragan with his prize for winning the pole position for this weeks race in Texas. A pair of Six Guns will go to the winner. And the winner is Matt Kenseth;
