  1. Cpt.TennealXI Geez...I was waiting for doctor Mark Recchi to say maybe Horton was faking it to make it look worse than it was. LolI will congratulate them if they win it,but being a Hab's fan it's against my religion to root for them...lolAnd Johnny it's been like 40years since they last won. And if your memory or history books can take you back far enough the Canadian teams had a very unfair advantage in the draft with regard to player picks. I think they had some kind of protection from other teams getting some of the Canadian players. They had first choice regardless of their position in the league and locked up the better players. This disparity led to Canadian teams dominating the league. I should have done some research before bringing this up, maybe someone else remembers the details. Edit: http://proicehockey.about.com/od/hockeyfaqsandtrivia/f/canadiens.htm A distinct advantage when almost every player was Canadian, Sort of screwed stateside teams. Recently the US Dollar vs the Canadian Dollar gave stateside teams an advantage. That's now gone. Can't even call your dollar funny money anymore.
  2. 3rdCdnInfty haha, it's one game and now Vancouver has seen the mistakes they made and they will come back and to win game 4 then back home to take the CUP! It's now 2 games won by Boston and by your absence I can only conclude you have bailed off of the Vancouver bandwagon. I do have an offer for you. With the series tied a 2-2 Vancouver still has home ice advantage. I will wager you $25.00 that Boston will win the cup. So as not to be for anyone's personal gain, if the bet is accepted, that the loser will makes a immediate $25.00 donation to the XI servers. Fair enough? Bet needs to be accepted before game 5 Are you confident enough in Vancouver?
  3. Vancouver better shape up if they want to return the Cup to Canada. 3-0 Boston the last I looked. Perhaps it will be Bud in the Cup again, Molson may have to wait another year.
  4. I run Microsofts Security Essentials all the time. PC Tools Spyware Doctor on occasion. But I do the same on all 3 of my PC's. The one at my Pocono house if the one with the problem. I transfer my Players folder from one PC to the other and the problem does not transfer. Also tried transferring the Mod folder and that had no effect. Did not have a large enough flash drive to move the main folder. I will do that next. If I can recreate the problem on another PC I can then identify the folder containing the problem and get rid of it. If I can't narrow it down to a folder I will just save my Players folder and reinstall the game. After the reinstall I will swap out the Players folder and be back up to date minus mods and maps which is no problem. The issue does not hurt my gaming other than annoying me because it's not right.
  5. Pretty lousy tradeoff for Boston, Rome for Horton. Losing Horton for the series hurts. Losing Rome, who really cares.
  6. Maybe this thread should have been called For Whiners Only.
  7. Certainly looks like Vancouver. But then again, no Canadian team has won the Cup for 18 years, they just might still blow it. Go Boston!!!
  8. Whiners. That's it. So what if players hop use nades or bazookas. If the server allows it just deal with it and game.
  9. Neither Refresh or Quick Refresh helped.
  10. Perhaps if I transfer one folder at a time from WAW on my Pocono PC to another PC with WAW I can, by a process of elimination identify the problem folder. When that is done just get rid of the problem folder and paste a good one into the Pocono PC. All PC's used the same CD for the install.
  11. I am sure all of XI and the guests will stand by you.
  12. I found it interesting: http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/06/05/thats-not-in-the-bible/?hpt=hp_c1
  13. Although I also sent a PM I wanted to post here to express my heart felt sympathy for the difficulties you are facing. I found tremendous support from XI members and guests in my recent loss. I think you to will find support from your friends at XI. As for gaming, in time you may find that gaming is a tool that can actually help get you through difficult times. Sometimes you will just need to "get away" with friends. Gaming is a good way to do that. You do not have to talk, just come in and pass time with friends you have made over the years. As I did, I think you will find tremendous support and respect from those who know what you are going through. Take full advantage of XI, it helps reduce that "alone" feeling.
  14. I have had this for sometime now. Initially I had four 0 servers. Yesterday I came in with Spyware Doctor running and could not get in. PB and Spyware Doctor do not get along even in game mode. I shut off Spyware Doctor and then when I joined I had even more 0 servers. It seems all existing favorites get changed to 0 and then cannot be deleted. I am pleased this is not some noobie or computer illiterate issue. At least I am coming up with something rare and unusual. Appreciate you guys looking into this.
  15. For some reason when I have been booted from WAW because I had left my Spyware Doctor running when I came back I had a series of servers listed in my Favorites that are just 0's. See attached pic: http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l239/Shamupa/IMAG0004.jpg When it first happens Favorites like XI are gone and I have to go to the Internet search to add them to Favorites again. The 0's just live their as uninvited guests. How the heck can I get rid of them? Highlighting and Delete will not do it. They are not in the Player/Profile folder because I move that between my PC's to stay current on each and this issue only is on the PC have in my Pocono house. Also they show up regardless of Player name selected. I have looked in the WAW folder and see nothing reflecting anything to do with favorites and it does not matter which mod I am in. Suggestions? This is like anything I have ever seen or heard before.

    Black Screen

At this point it has not happened again so I will leave well enough alone. I do not relish taking anything apart since I have never done anything to my PC myself. But I suppose there is a first time for everything.
  17. In mid game my screen went black. I could still here the game going on but my screen was black as night. I hit the Reset to restart my PC but still a black screen. Then I held the power button down so it would shut off completely. Came back in 45 minutes or so and everything is looking normal. Any ideas? Video card over heating?? Video card getting ready to die? BTW...... Nvidia 295. Or just some damn fluke?
  18. Okay the Canucks have got off to a good start in trying to bring the cup back to Canada for the first time in 18 years. The Cup has resided Stateside for a long time now and I am sure Vancouver would like to bring it "home". 1-0 game, last few seconds goal, one player accused of biting another......., this could get interesting.
  19. Or you could be like me, 10 years ago after a heart episode I had a double bypass. A couple months ago after an incident with a rapid heart beat ( 155 per min ) I was told that tests showed I never needed the bypass I got 10 years ago. Go figure.
  20. Losers. Because they will have to play the Flyers

  24. May each of us take a moment during this holiday week end to give a moment of thanks to all the veterans who have made it possible. An old traditional poem from a Canadian doctor who had just lost a friend: The GreatWar 1914-1918 In Flanders Fields by John McCrae, May 1915 In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. http://www.greatwar.co.uk/poems/john-mccrae-in-flanders-fields-inspiration.htm Take time to make a charitable donation to one of the many vets selling Poppies out side of our local stores.
