And just think, there are those out there who do not believe in capital punishment. Scum like that do not deserve life on this earth. Damn liberalism and rehabilitation.

You will play a major roll in her recovery, remember to have patience and to be supportive. It is no easy road for either of you to be walking. My very best to you and your wife.

Anyone remember Star Trek when Kahn inserted a worm into Chekov's ear? Here is real life: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/17/rochelle-harris-flesh-eating-worms-screwworm-fly_n_3610851.html?1374071791&ncid=webmail3 And the Star Trek reminder, equally gross: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydXenL7iu0w

It will be hard to part with them I assure you. Just take time to evaluate who is getting them, if you are not sure they will be good to the pup don't let them have one. You carry a huge responsibility in finding them good homes.

A Sony TV I bought through a local department store had a very nice program a few years back. When my TV took a shit all I did was call Sony and they sent a new TV via UPS and I just shipped the old one back in the delivery box. Shipping all paid for by Sony.

I too went through a heart episode to include stints and bypass. In act after receiving the stint my heart stopped for 16 minutes while I was in recovery. The nurses an staff brought me back without any damage. Had I been home I would have died, because of their quick and excellent response I am still here today. That was over 10 years ago. BTW having had my heart stopped for 16 minutes set some kind of record at Lehigh Valley Hospital, well known as a heart hospital here in PA. That episode initiated immediate bypass surgery the following morning. Let me tell you it did wonders for me but recovery takes time and exercise. My wife was my drill sergeant and my kids my moral support. I simply cannot express how much family did and meant for me during that time. Hang in there and lend whatever moral support you can to your Dad. And yes, the patient can get grumpy and you need to be tolerant and forgiving. Sometimes the drugs he is being administered have a behavioral effect. Watch or ask the nurses, they understand. Hopefully all will turn out well and he might actually be significantly better than before he had surgery. I wish you and your Dad all the best.

I was referring to the one you had said she had taken out of the box and you had to put it back. Just curious if she had any issue with that particular pup. My experience are that the Lab type breed are almost proud to share their puppies with their people. It's like they have pride in their litter and actually want to share them with you. When we had a litter my wife and I might take one or two from the box and sit on the floor handling them. Many times the Mom would go back to the litter box and brought another one over for us to see with her tail wagging away. I sort of miss that experience. Good luck and good health to all.

But there is just something scary to the bad guy if he hears a pump being racked for action.

She looks like a real good Mom. Did she accept the one you had put back?

Today I swung my front door wide open and placed my Remington 870 shotgun right in the doorway. I gave it 6 shells, then left it alone and went about my business. While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign right in front of our house. After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I had left it. It hadn't moved itself outside. It certainly hadn't killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had been presented to do so. In fact, it hadn't even loaded itself. Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the media hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people. Either the media is wrong, and it's the misuse of guns by PEOPLE that kills people, or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world. Alright, well I'm off to check on my forks and spoons. I hear they're making people fat.

I hope you did not get attacked by opening the e-mail. By all means go no further. If I do not recognize something valid in the e-mail address it is flung into the trash can as spam.

I hope the Federal Government does not get involved and bring charges on a violation of Martin's civil rights on "right to life". I am sure there will be a Civil Suit brought by the plaintiffs (Martin's) against the defendant (Zimmerman). Trial procedures are much different and the defendant cannot refuse to testify. The award if anything would likely be financial. Martin has the financial resources behind him to do as he wishes. Zimmerman is probably dead broke already. But if he is found guilty in a civil suit I suppose that will be a victory for the Martin's and perhaps provide some sort of closure. I doubt that this is over as yet. I am pleased to see that violence has been at a minimum so far.

I do not think he can be tried for the same thing twice. If he were to beat second degree murder he could not be retried for any lesser charge either. Double Jeopardy. "Double jeopardy is a procedural defence that forbids a defendant from being tried again on the same (or similar) charges following a legitimate acquittal or conviction." If it ends in a mistrial or hung jury charges could again be brought by the prosecution.
-
No you are not ignorant. The prosecution asked the judge to instruct the jury that could could find him guilty of manslaughter. The defense objected and in my opinion rightfully so. Should he be found guilty of manslaughter it is certainly a lesser charge but I also feel the defense would have great grounds to file for a mistrial. Maybe even have the case dismissed. The charge he was brought up on was second degree murder. His defense was prepared with that charge in mind. The judge instructing the jury that it could rule manslaughter did not allow the defense to prepare a case in defense of a manslaughter charge. IMHO an big mistake in our judicial system or the judge to allow a manslaughter charge after the defense has concluded it's case defending against a charge of second degree murder. I feel rather sure a manslaughter decision would lead to a mistrial at the very least or as said above perhaps even get the case thrown out. Not sure how all that stuff works in the legal world.

I am curious as to why you had to point out that it is a "6 woman" jury instead of just saying "the jury". Are you inferring that because it is all women that the outcome may be different than if it weren't?? Because jury selection is an integral part of a jury trial and much time and effort is put into jury selection. I believe for this case it may have taken 3 weeks to seat the jury. The makeup of the jury is always a factor in a jury trial and all the jurors are selected for a reason whatever it may be. Juries are all selected from a pool of jurors, I am sure the mindset of the attorneys had some reason for selecting ALL women rather than the luck of the draw. A six woman jury is a factor in the trial not to be overlooked. I could also have said five are white and one Hispanic but was sure that would be taken improperly by some readers and, unfortunately, considered racist as opposed to a factor in the trial. Also understand that is not to say I am in anyway pro or con, really had not given it any thought until this reply. I will bet however if Zimmerman is acquitted the jury makeup may become an issue. But rest assured it is not just coincidence that the jury is all women. They are there mostly by the choice of the attorneys regardless of the reasoning behind it. There is sound reasoning behind it, just not sure what it is. EDIT: Did some searching on Google. A quote from the NY Times via Google: "That the final jury was made up solely of women was unusual, legal experts said. But what might resonate more in this racially charged case is that all but one of the jurors is white. Diana Tennis, a defense lawyer based in Orlando, said the chances of having a six-person jury without any black jurors were high given the demographics of Seminole County, where 11 percent of the population is black. But should Mr. Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, be acquitted by a jury that includes no blacks could become a point of contention in the trial’s aftermath, she said."
