My PC usually downloads/installs updates then shuts down, did it yesterday when i was finished, started my PC this morning (this is a new PC only 3 weeks old, usually starts up withing 20/30 seconds) this morning i got a screen with the shop who built my PC and a spinning wheel which i always get but as i said it starts up straight away, this time nothing happened, it wouldn't let me shut the PC down it would only let my restart, i have had this happen a few times with my old PC's but restarting usually solved the problem, but today after 2 attempts 3rd attempt i left it while i had a shower etc, 40 minutes later it was no different, so i restarted again and this time pressed "F2" to get into the Bios, in there i saw option which "Boot Maintenance" so i clicked that and it said it was repairing, when it finished it told me that my PC had not started normally and that i should restart (no really lol) anyway did that and it worked but before it started it downloaded/installed the updates again, when i got it going i got a message asking me about a certain program (sorry can't remember what it's called now) i was asked if i would allow this program to make changes to my PC as it said this program was a Windows program and was essential to Windows but if it caused any problems you could disable it, if it is so essential why would they let you disable it lol, anyway i left it and guessed it was probably this program that had caused me the problem, really pisses me off stuff like this, i really do not like going into BIOS and stuff like that, i am not a computer nerd but i have half an idea about some things, luckily i did today. @@Astronomer i understand why you want to choose which updates to install etc but how do you know which ones to install or not, i wouldn't have clue to be honest, i am scared i might need some updates and i don't install them?
