I suspect that a lot of people used that term in the 1950's regardless of their politics. Racism is racism. I do find this to be a touch ironic. If someone comes onto our server and uses that term, we ban them period and many times there is little argument by anyone... So why the pass on Paula Deen? Because she allegedly knows better now and doesnt use the term...she only admitted that in the past she had... So we ban because we know better and do better....if we banned anyone who has used the term in the past who'd be left??

@@Leadfinger The boat is my baby....I started with a 9' 9" Basstender which is basically a polyethelyne bathtub....used it on the upper delaware river ( hancock to port jervis) for years...I was the king of the delaware in my 20's...it had a 5 hp and wouldnt sink no matter how hard i tried.... Then a series of used boats through my kid rearing years that required a tackle box for fishing a lunch box for food and a tool box and ether to get them running.... Finally got tired of hanging my ass over the transom trying to start them...and got this one....click start everytime...love new..... Anyhow yes handles water excellent....heres a story....I grew up salt water with my dad...hard core montauk and shinacock bay in LI.....never fresh water until i moved out...anyhow...not scared of any water...my dad was a nut and it rubbed off i guess...anyhow...wife loves the shore...we go for a week or two every year and I always bring the boat...One morning I heard the fluke were biting good outside the inlet..(barnaget Inlet look it up its one of the like top 10 shitty inlets to use) so I load up the boat and head out....I get to the inlet and the tide is headed in...the rollers were like 10'...not breakers...rollers....smooth rounded tops...ya know? I cant see the ocean over them.....thought thought thought fuck it....and there i go....jammed throttle to the top of the first one, chop the throttle and ski down the other side....people on the rocks must have thought i was crazy and half way out I started to think they were right...but I made it.....and it was really rough out there but I ran out to the 2 mile bouy and fished for about an hour caught 2 short fluke and 1 large skate.....on the way back it was a worse ride and the boat was getting slammed and everytime it hit water would come in from under the console....I thought that I had beat it up so bad I cracked something but what it was was the speed tube that uses water pressure to determine speed? it came off and evertime the boat slammed it squirted water from under the console but at the time I thought i might be sinking and it was the first time i ever wore a lifejacket while riding my or any boat.... So ya its great and takes it well...!!!!!

Thanks all....makes me feel kinda oldish.... and ya laszlo....i have interviwed a few...lol...but to be honest I never really worried much about her because I taught her from a young age independence....she always thought shit out before she did anything and once she decided what ever it was she did it regardless....also she set the school record of 12 years in shot and disc in her freshman year then broke both her own records the following year...(proud face) Then got bored and stopped track in her senior year...grrrrrrrr... She was voted toughest kid in 8th grade boys included....it wasnt until the boys started sprouting that she lost the title...lol... Shes great, smart and aggresive....no one will ever push her around and god help that one that tries....it drives her mother crazy and makes me smile.... I did all I can now...I put street smarts, work ethic, moral compass and education into my kids...the rest is up to them....havent got shit left to give em cept for love... Thanks all....

Well...thats it for me as far as school sports (loved watching) spring concerts and back to school nites...my second and last kid graduated...and turned 18 june 8th...first thing she did was peirce her nose and bellybutton cause her mom said when your 18 do what you want but until then.....lol... Wife and daughter.... My son with his sister...

Well...I'm no Paula Deen fan one way or the other but I saw Matt Lauer and her today and what a peice of shit Matt Lauer is for making her cry like that... Shes 66, grew up in the south in the 50's and told the truth....no one deserves to be treated like that..... The world...the WHOLE world is freaking crazy...

First of all every single one of us has something to regret in our past....everyone... Second of all the whole world has gone crazy..... Third of all firing her for ALLEGATIONS only makes her employers look foolish... Fourth she made is worse with the apology... Fifth the whole world has gone crazy.... And lastly Paula Deen beloved for her butter cream sugar laden receipes hid the fact she had diabetes all the while whipping cream and butter into every receipe we were supposed to make... But my ANSWER to the question LOM poses is yes,she got a raw deal because the whole world has gone crazy....
