wife computer is infected by adware i guess.

after a few time, firefox opens random selling websites and adult sites

it also seems to change some firefox settings such as the home page

i tried a lot of stuff to get rid of it, but in vain

she has avira antivirus, it detected nothing

adaware detected a few stuffs, but got rid of the crap, but still got same problem

spybot search and destroy , same thing

malwarebytes, same thing

ccleaner same thing

clean cache, cookies, temp files

got rid of some skype plugins shit

after all this we still got those ads

but not one today yet, maybe its fixed, not sure ?

any other things to try ?

what is your OS?

Usually the first thing a bad virus does is overwrites a system file and then the rest goes to hell. Look in your windows folder for cmd.exe (or search for it) make sure you run it as administrator and type in sfc/scannow this will replace the system files that may be infected and then run the Spybot and MalwareBytes programs.

As a sidenote Spybot has an advanced mode that lets you edit startup items, its on the menu bar. If you see one that says anything like a random set of numbers and letters, you can disable it and then run the others. For example aahhh333bdh.exe

Remember anything you download/update on an infected PC may not be actually going to the correct website for updates.Wink

Before reformating, try bringing out the big gun:

Bootable antivirus.  I've had good luck with it.  It will hunt down and destroy 99% of the nasty little bastards.
