So I moved to my present home on July 3rd, 19 years ago and like every year on this weekend the sky is filled with fireworks. Many people all over have private fireworks displays, but one in particular here is incredible. This is not a city or township sponsored event, but a group of about 20 residents of a small island in the middle of an 845 acre lake. These fireworks are very illegal in Michigan (we go to Ohio or Indiana to buy), but that doesn't seem to deter anyone thoughout the state (and country, for that matter). But many cities and towns would envy the hour long show that these folks put on (must be thousands of $$$). Check out the sample (ran out of memory before the finale):

Nice, I had to go to Greenfield Village for the "Salute to America" to see some good fireworks

The DSO played the 1812 overture and even had real cannons - a little better than the "Freedom Fireworks" downtown, if you ask me

but it wasn't cheap and it was very crowded!!!

LtLaszlo - July Fourth celebration and my 19th year here!

Nice story..... in Germany we had some of the best fireworks ever. Ok.. in Germany they dont use safty glass in their cars. So if you wreck.. glass will go everywhere and can fuck you up. My 16 year old German friend.... me being 12 at the time.. (that should tell alot) we were having a blast fucking shit up with fireworks. So.. we did two things..  the first thing we did was blew up a snow castle. Put fireworks all around this 10 foot snow castle. It was cool. You could walk inside it and all. We blew it up. So next we needed more shit to fuck up. We would tape our fireworks to german cars windshield set and run and then watch.. BOOOOOOOOOOOOM! window implodes. not sure how many cars we did to.. so glad my parents never found out....... but germans and americans should never hang out together. hahahaha we are too crazy.
