Howdy,

****UPDATE****

Please feel free to post any reviews related to BF3 performance with existing hardware!!!!

A pretty good link from TECHSPOT:

http://www.techspot.com/review/458-battlefield-3-performance/

It covers GPU and CPU performance with the release version of the game...

good review but no overclocking on the cpus doesn't show true performance. If the used the 3gig version of the 580 or evga classified 580 card it would smoke the crossfire setup listed at the top of gpus.  My 470's perform better than the test results on ultra setting and with 2xmsaa, I never go under 60fps @1920x1200

Well,

This post could be a melting pot of all the reviews/benchmarking about BF3 (release)!

Like the old saying says: your mileage may vary! I also get numbers a little different that what's in the review... (dual 560Tis here)

But, while you're partly right about CPU overclocking, indications tend to show that any quad mildy clocked would be enough and won't lead to FPS increase...BF3 is a lot more GPU dependant.

For the graphics cards, and the EVGA 580 3Gb...well, pretty limited edition, and the price is retarded. I was the proud owner of an EVGA GTX590 classified for a few weeks and although that card was powerful, I get the same 3Dmarks11 Pscore with my two 560TI's Twin frozrII OC...of course it's all resolution dependant......

That being said all info is beneficial to the people shopping for new hardware!

Heffalump

You'll like it!

it's got a pretty good review from HardOcp:

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/07/25/sapphire_hd_6950_2gb_dirt_3_video_card_review/1

With a 2GB frame buffer, you should run the game on all HIGH, with a few ULTRA settings, especially with vSYNC enabled...

I'm an nVIDIA guy myself, but this Sapphire card you ordered did really a good impression! A trick with the 6950 mods tho...

you can mod the card to enable all the shaders, but you don't want to mod the memory....

I think that the dual BIOS switch has the already-loaded tweaked BIOS (to turn the 6950 into a 6970 "shader-wize")

Enjoy!

OC'D 560ti's should beat that weak ass 590 lol but yes screen res is the main variable but if you weren't overclocking the cpu  and had 2 strong cards, it would bottleneck.  On stock speeds it would cut fps but you are also right fps won't go up much going from 3.6ghz(mild) to 4.2ghz(high as most 920 will go on air cooling).  The price of any 580-590 or 6990's or way too high! IMO

see the website I bought from, you guys in the US of A don't know how lucky you are on component costs.

apparently Sapphires own website support has its own Trixx software to help enable card setting up, and i think also on the bios too.
