game freezing

hi  all every time i start to play a game cod2,cod4,cod5,crysis2 after about 10/ 30 secound,s of the game playing the screen freezes on me i do a ctrl alt delete to get this of ,then the next time i go into the game everything works fine no more freezing its just puzzling to why this happens when it plays for the first time  any ideas out there ??????

You're going to hear about everything from video drivers, to sound drivers, to memory isses, etc. and etc. It's one of those issues you may never find the answer for. All I can offer is that if this is something new, on the same system, than either a system driver is shaky, or a piece of hardware is failing. If it affects other programs, it's hardware. If it's only games, it's likely driver-related.

thanks harry i've got my new card now so i'll put that in tomorrow and update the drivers  as well.............

If the new card does not solve your problem you might just try re seating the memory.(remove it and replace it) Also there is a free program you can download to test the memory. Download it, write it to a disk and boot from it. This process can take all day but it does a thorough  test on the memory. I use it for almost every computer I work on. good luck...
