I am thinking of getting an inversion table to relieve the chronic back pain i have been suffering with for awhile, and was curious as to whether any idiots in here have done it, and what the results were. Let me know what y'all think.

a close friend of mine got one 4 or 5 years back.

he has had back trouble for 15 or so years.   was always walking stooped over to one side

constant nagging pain.

after about 3 months of use he was walking straight and tall again.

was a new man he said.

now works as a mechanic again with no back problems.

has used it all the time since buying it .

been there done that....i get sick from hanging upside down on the one i had...sold it two weeks after i got it...i have had a bad back for about ten years and was grasping at anything to relieve it...so i tried it...it made me all sweaty and clammy feeling as well my stomach got really upset from just two minutes of it..i couldnt' get rid of feeling sick on it....hanging upside down is for bats i figured....good luck if you get it....but traction helped me alot more than the inversion table.....i go once a month for some traction and a gentle pull on the spine for thirty minutes gives me huge relief....sometimes after a long day i go to the physio centre for a hour or so and back to normal....compression is the worst for me and really painfull so thats my fix for my pain....good luck with the inversion thing ...hope it works for you

It's hit or miss really.

Chances are it will indeed help, but the issue as some pointed out is can you handle upside down and if so for how long.

It's not super great to be upside down too long as it messes with your blood flow, tummy acid etc. but the pulled of the spine is what makes it work.

You can kind of do similar right side up if you can relax your legs off the groud and brace yourself up with just your elbows on something high, locked close to your body and relax and let your body weight pull your spine. You know you're doing it right if you feel you spine pulling, though it probably does not do the entire spine well like the above would but for mid/lower back it does well for me.
