Was hoping someone may know the fix for Stars problem .....When he launches Cod2 he has 2 mouse Icons one for the game and one regular ....Neither will allow him to click anything until he control/alt/delete then the game icon will now allow him to enter the game

I know there was a mouse issue with Win 7 and 8 / 8.1 so if anyone knows of the fix please suggest away

Thank you

If the mouse doesn't work when he starts the game, he can use the tab key to move to different positions then the enter key will act as a left mouse click.

Never heard of 2 mouse icons appearing and can't find anything online about it. My son uses Win 8.1 and has COD2 loaded through Steam. Took us forever to figure out how to get it going and finally figured out it wouldn't play without a mic plugged into his PC.

Is it cordless or USB? Try deleting one and make the other default. Try another USB slot. Does the mouse have a disc install ,or try to upgrade the driver? Some mice require installing the driver/program from the manufacture to work properly (make sure the set-up is for win8) Sounds like it might be a config issue. If  that is a possibility, try system restore to a time before the trouble. I hope something helps Star. One other thing to try is to google the problem and see what comes up. Or try setting the game compatibility to Win 7 or XP/Vista.
