I have broken down and have resurrected my old tower that is woefully under powered.  I need to try to transfer personal files from my Asus tower to my old home built Acer tower.  We will see how it goes, thankfully the motherboard on the old tower has sata connectors on it, but there is no sata power from the PSU.  So I am thinking I am going to frankenstien the two together to get the transfer done (if i can access the drive) then wipe the drive.  The only problem that I can see is that win 8.1 came preinstalled on the new tower. So no recover media or anything to reinstall Windows.  Any ideas?

Cheers,

Me.

Windows 7 iso can be downloaded legally, just google it.

Western Digital do acronis disk clone so it copies everything, including boot record and OS to new drive.
