I hate legacy hardware even though I still have some. Look at the clock and record the time of death to tell your friend. Don't get me wrong i get these all of the time to work on. Heh, keep in mind these few items. NO media cneter in W8 unless you pay an additiona; $13 and get a product key for it, so that is a minus for any media center freaks. [i have 2 WMC] Anyone interested in the free how to open your media center up securely to the internet so you can hit your network content from anywhere including your phone? It is sweet and smooth. If you hack the metro off you will lose the networking benefit of the puse on large file transfers, so leave the metro on and get used to it. Overall I can think of no good reason to upgrade other than the pause and FTP tweaks they did. I have a TechNet account and have tested the OS pretty extensvely. Not really impressed and the stripping of the media center and the barring of the aero interface are negatives for me personally. If I wanted the interface to look like Windows 3.11 I would dig out my floppies and load it up....LOL. Cheap OS but not for all people. Whoever noted the touchscreen stuff that is correct.....but if you have a touch capable device why not put W7 on it and enjoyt the recoirded TV, Mopvies, Music and everything else in your Homegroup 7 setup?

no prob. It too is not the best, but does a better job with viewing M$ spreadsheets than google docs sheet reader. I have only used it for view/read stuff so far.

Hey, I do not see a need for any local email client, like was mentioned above web based is where it is at. I prefer Gmail. For the pesky Microsoft attachments google docs is ok, but I have been testing this for my people that need free and legal....seems to work pretty well so far. Kingsoft Office with AntiVirus. Windows 8 is turning people off, but I do like the network enhancements. TechNet subscription got me the RTM a month ago. I like the pause feature on large fdile transfers...and a few other things. I do not like that Microsoft is making Media center a pay product. There's my nickel! G G

I have cable in the states and I think I pay for 8meg down, but in testing it is about 34meg down cuz I am close to the switch....I suck at COD4 ftag cuz I can't see so well. LOL I would love to have the 100 people speak of...don't want to pay though. GMoney

Hey all, Justa a note to say sorry, while we played Ftag tonight on svr1. My isp had one that left me connected until I got kicked. Sucked as i had a decent round in the making. Then an hour or so later our entire area had a blackout. Only thing I can think is it has been quite a bit hotter here than normal and the power grid is stretched a bit thin. My AC never stops running. Midwest heat isn't as high as others have but we get the thick humidity here...My pool has been around 92 degrees lately, still feels good when it is over 100 outside+high humidity to boot. Anyway, post if you have had anything similar heat or thoughts??? GMoney

Hey all, My name is Brian, I am 47, live in St. Charles, Mo. I registered quite a while back [August 2010], but never posted til now. I have been playing on the servers longer than that, can't recall. I started wondering what it takes to be able to add the coveted >XI< to my tag and so I read the rules....and drafted this intro as a start. I love the COD4 freezetag servers and the folks I am priveleged to game with at them. I am married with 2 daughters.....watch it. I have been FPS gaming since Quake and Win95 days. My probelm is available time between wortk and with 2 teenage daughters I spend my time portraying that I am unstable to their friends while keeping a watchful eye. The older I get I don't focus that well, so I am often easy sniper bait....need glasses , probably. I am a systems engineer for one of our hospital systems in St. Louis. GMoney is one of many nicknames I have been handed that have stuck. I am like most folks and love the $$$, yet complain about the lack of it and so GMoney was it. My last name begins with a G so no gangsta reference, the kids call me 'G'. Those who know me know I am very family oriented, yet flexible and sarcastic. Noted that to explain why I am not in the servers playing more often, the girls keep me busy. I love the summer, the sun, my pool, the XI servers and people I encounter through them.
