PrimalFear badmofof Dont wanna sound like a idiot but the twin towers were not brought down buy bin laden wake up and smell what ur shoveling here and who really cares if he got killed what about the radioactive plum that spilled out of japan thats news !!! *sigh* Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden ?Usamah bin Mu?ammad bin ?Awa? bin Ladin; March 10, 1957 – May 2, 2011)note a[3][4][5] was the founder of al-Qaeda, the organization responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States and numerous other mass-casualty attacks against civilian and military targets. He was a member of the wealthy Saudi bin Laden family and an ethnic Kindite.[6] Bin Laden was on the American Federal Bureau of Investigation's lists of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives and Most Wanted Terrorists for his involvement in the 1998 U.S. embassy bombings.[7][8][9] From 2001 to 2011 bin Laden was a major target of the War on Terror, which has resulted in a total of between 80,000 and 1.2 million civilian deaths in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia between 2001 and 2007. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osama_bin_Laden wikipedia will never be an acurate source of information, haven't they told you that in school?

crackxi if this was hitler we were talkin bout i dont think toothpick would care. Well hitler is to me what bin laden is to the us. Altough I must admit that I did not personally experienced his reign of terror or the second world war. But with the stories I have heard from my grandfather I can imagine the my reaction is quite simular to 99% of the Americans. The only 2 things that are different are: - I did not experienced it personal (it was like 40-45 years before I was born) - I can look at the situation subjective and not objective (the bin laden situation that is) I do must add that the death of Hitler was quite a big difference since he comitted suicide (got his gas bill i guess, srry bad joke) and his death occured in the full extend of the war and not 10 years after. ------------------ PigDog Toothpick hxtr Damage_inc- It really doesn't make sense to me the one person you would want to interrogate to get answers from and they shoot him while he was unarmed? The problem is whenever the government does anything recently they always seem to raise far more questions then resolve issues cleanly ..Other then that I'm glad he is dead and I hope this resolves and puts some amount of closure to those that have sacrificed and lost loved ones in this horrible mess.. can you imagine the circus media frenzy that would erupt if they took him alive. They would be accusations of torture... then the Libs would make sure to put him on trial creating nothing but distractions to for all of us.... meanwhile all the radicals in the middle east and even here would go nutz. For what information... unless we did torture him we would not get anything viable from him. In my country even the most hated man, Mark Dutroux, got a fair trial. And this after he had kidnapped, raped, disintegrated and killed a couple of (little) girls. It was mayham when they where bringing him to court because you saw the crowd on the the street next to the corthouse who all smelled blood. He even got a trail before a jury, and yes there was no way you could find people to sit on the jury who hadn't allready made up their mind to vote guilty but still he got a shot at a fair trail. At this point he is just rotting away in his cell for as long as he shall live. So why do I bring this up? Because everybody get's a chance to prove his innocent (not that it is really necesarry in some cases) or to give at least a fair trail. Why did you think your gouverment would get critizised? Well my guess is that you are not a sitting member of the gouverment so you would give the criticism to them if they brought him back alive or if it didn't go exactyl as plant ... And still: if he was interrogated you allways had a chance to find out more about the way the taliban or al-qaida or some other religous fanatic group works. Toot, I understand what you are saying, but I do not necessarily agree with you. If you could be in a situation like that facing our SEAL team and held yourself back from the emotions and not popped a cap in the most hated man in US history, then I will concede that you are a better man then I am. OK, let's look at this realistically. He admitted his guit and we know he was a murderer. He would not have wanted to be taken alive nad held in a US prison, or Gitmo. the realistic part of this is that he would haev stood trial and been found guilty and sentenced to death. the SEALs just sped up the process. As far as my knowledge goes for the US Military force I know that when the Seals move into action it is a high-risk mission. They are trained to kill and they just did what they did in their training. I'm glad that you understand what I'm saying and I do not judge those people, I just say that they have lowered themselves to the same level as a murderer, and that is what I find a shame. It is a good thing that he is dead since if you are going to look at the bigger picture you see that the US get the most advanteges out of it like: - a great moral boost - they are well aware of the pay-back al-qaida CAN (not will, can) launch on the US - the moral of al-qaida is bruised when one of their "big shots" get's a bullet Ok, the guy is dead, the world is happy. I know that he would have gotten the death penalty when he was captured and given a fair trail because it is impossible to find a jury who didn't have any knowledge or made-up mind about bin laden. Now let's just hope that terrorism is going to stop bit by bit.

PimpedOutPete The Geneva Covention partially refers to prisoners of war and their treatment afterwards. Bin Laden was killed in the midst of a fire fight and was not in custody. The US military have done their best in capturing these individuals alive (aka Hussiens capture) but unfortunately this wasn't the case here. The fact is the man his dead and criticizing the method of how it was done without evidence is just wasteful. Hopefully more info will come to light over the next few weeks or so. Then we shall talk and maybe even review our opinions after an official and trustworthy source comes out with more details :-)

BudSr Toothpick BudSr Toothpick Shamu Toothpick 3rdCdnInfty Armed or unarmed. He got what he deserved. I agree Merlin I don't, even if he was a terrorist he is still a human being. Geneva convention anybody? Uhhhh....timeout, were the people on 9/11 protected by the Geneva Convention? Were hostages who were separated from their heads protected? Tell me you are not serious. Maybe you are trying to make a joke I do not understand? If it were up to me a national memorial would be constructed at the site of the Twin Towers to Seal Team 6. i'm dead serious why lower yourself to the same level as a killer is what i think :-) oh boy here we go RUGGER, Why do you need to call rugger, i'm just saying what i think and i find it ethicly wrong to shoot an unarmed man if they had the chance to capture him if they had captured him they could even learn more about his network but hey we all love shooting peepz so :-) bro i don't need to call rugger but i am sure his pm in-box is full right now by others who always tell him shit when shit don't go there way. and for shooting an unarmed man. fucking hell bro i bet if you look at all the people who died on 9/11 you would of only found guns on the police and maybe a few others. as far as i have read no other country wanted his dead ass lame body in there country. i would have brought his dead body to NY tied it to a car and drove it by rope behind all over the city. just my thought love SR. check my other post right below the one you quoted. like I said the standards I've been raised with have tought me that you don't need to lower your actions to the one of a "bad guy" I know he is like the most hated person ever, especially for the americans, brittish and spanish people because of his attacks. It's just a shame in my eyes that so many people are extremely happy that the elite of the elite simply shot an unarmed man. Don't get me wrong it is good that he is now fully out of action, µI just find it a pitty that they didn't get a chance to question him and didn't attempt to capture him alive. But still, the only news I get about this is what I see on TV and we all know that tv is not the most reliable source of information. If there would be a reliable source that says that he started shooting the seals first then it's ok for me and my standards that they shot him. But I've heard that he even used his wife as a human shield. And to pull Husain into all of this: why didn't they just killed him then when they have finally found him? he also did a lot of crimes against mankind but he did get his sort of trial before they hanged him. Just treat everybody good, bad, super-evil, ... the same way is what I would say. And yet again: i'm not from the us so the attacks they did didn't affect me as big as the americans that is why my point of view on this matter is a bit different then most you guys. No need to start hating or start a ruccus, I'm just saying my thoughts about all of this

Shamu I am pleased that Tooth did not take my comments badly because there was no ill will intended to Tooth. Just me venting a bit. In all seriousness I feel if we had taken him alive there would be hell to pay. Many innocents would be taken by the Taliban as hostages for negotiations. Their treatment would certainly not follow Geneva Conventions. Heads would be separated from bodies of completely innocent victims. At least it is accepted that Bin Laden did what he did and he took credit for the murders. And I do not look at this as murder, I prefer to look at it as a politically wise assasination. While I do not condone indiscriminate killing I do think the best option was Bin Laden dead. War is not pretty and sometimes assasination is the best option. Too bad no one assasinated Hitler. I don't think too many Jews would have objected. Wel that is why they call it terrorism and not a regular war. I'm not assaulting you or anybody on purpose (if my remarks offend) but I have been raised with certain standards and I intend to keep me on those standards for as long as I live. Ok I must admit that me being from an other continent is also a big difference into the "feeling-situation" because the 9-11 was in for me (at my age then) the other side of the world. And in my honest opinion I also think that capturing bin laden wouldn't have any more worse consecuenses then what is going on today. The taliban and al-qaida are so big that they allready replaced bin laden after he was missing. Also the fact that hitler commited suicide can make it a bit simular to the current situation: the part to capture/kill him was not needed since: - both of them weren't capable of leading their 'teams' anymore - they where both hiding so that they could try to make an attempt to flee away and survive But then again, all those conventions back in the days of the 2 world wars were for a reason and I'm happy that i can say that i live in a country/continent/world that applies those rules made up by the UN back in those days. Even tough this could have simply be an assassination for the sake of obama's political career it also could have been a soldier who killed him intentionally because he lost a beloved one to a terrorsit attack
