  1. I wouldn't consider a AMD motherboard with nVIDIA chipset...too many issues and no TRIM support for SSDs....
  2. Bumpity bump! Yup, I got some killing to do, to stay on that 10 player list...maybe....
  3. Nice! At least you got soem backup. Hopefully, ASUS turnaround will be fast enough for ya. Do they have the same mobo in stock, or they offered you a different model?
  4. Nice case!!!! I love full ATX, lots of room to move around stuff and sort the cabling out! AIRFLOW!!! got to treat that nice hardware with lots of it!
  5. Astro, From what I get, you're still on the 775 platform. That Asus mobo is probably under warranty right? This is getting really hard to find a good 775 mobo ,nowaday... ASUS has an RMA center in Ontario, so hopefully they ship you another one really quickly. You might want to "slowly" start to look into the next platform...Intel Sandy bridge or AMD Bulldozer (coming up soon).
  6. Same stuff here... CCLEANER....reliable, around for a while, no limited-edition 30 days trial bullz
  7. That power supply might be crappy, old and became weak....cause these things degrade over time. It could be unstable... You can download a voltage monitor and look at your 3.3V, 5V and 12V readings...if they're too low on the 12V, that might cause issues. Your PCI-E slot might be dying too (the computer killed two cards after all) BUT, that can be a lot of things... If you want to know if your card overheats, you have to install something like MSI AFTERBURNER... It's free, and you can use what is called the OSD (onscreen display) to monitor and show your GPU temperature while in game. If you notice that your card runs better with the computer case open, it's a sign of bad airflow in your case...dust can be caked inside the card and preventing the fan to properly push thru the fins to cool the GPU properly... Anyway, list your system specs that would help a lot. Tell us about the powersupply make, wattage and model number... If you're on the hunt for a cheap video card, well, how much do you have to spend? Can you buy online? or do you have some big computer store close by? Newegg.com, microcenter... A 9800GT equals a GTS250 equals pretty much a GTS450 in performance...LOOK for a GTX460 or a GTX550...that would be a nice upgrade (at least twice or more as powerful as a 9800GT), on the cheap (around $130)...You can also look for second-hand GTX 260s, 275s or GTX285s...(don't pay more than $75...IMHO... But BEWARE, if your Powersupply is crapping out on you (if it is), a more powerful car will draw even more power...so you'd be into more expenses....
  8. Nice! Now put this shyte together so you can pwn some a$$ in the game!!!!
  9. What is your budget, to be honest? I have nothing to sell right now, but I can see if it's cost effective to buy used, or to look towards a new platform! Quite a few of us went thru system overhauls lately. so we can fill you in on the pricing and good bang for the buck stuff!!!! If you're really short on cash, but can buy new, those AMD PhenomII X4 are becoming REALLY cheap right now, they are phased out. Same for the Phenom II X6 (6-cores). You can get a Motherboard plus CPU plus RAM for $300 brand new....
  10. ENG4INE It burns when I pee. I just thought someone should know. There you go ENG4INE.... BTW, those {RAGE} guys, when they come to our server, are coming in to win at any cost, and by team stacking, they were doing it, JUST for the win, not the fun....
  11. Acknowledged! So basically, all other clan members that show up in force to "dominate" us are to be taken care of right?
  12. Wow Crazy, you're saying that you're an army all by yourself?
  13. Dark Asylum, Please post pics of the card with the cooler installed you B! You can use MSI AFTERBURNER to monitor your in-game temps....using the on-screen overlay... and give me some of those cookies!
  14. Pretty funny dude!

    finding XI

If I were you I would send STEAM friend invites to blackops players....then they send you an invite....you're in the server and you add to favorites.... Honestly, reset all the game browser options, let it refresh a few times, and look in alphabethical order....XI should be easy to find.... What's your STEAM name?
  16. Dark Asylumn CplMOFO Dark, I suggested a self-contained CPU cooler for pricing considerations. Going full-fledge water-cooling might not be worth it in your situation. As you know, the CPU waterblock+pump+reservoir+radiator(s) cost a lot of cash. for the same price as a decent dedicated CPU loop, you possibly could grab a 2500K sandy bridge CPU (running cool) with a decent mobo+8GB of RAM (good RAM is SO cheap right now)... As for watercooling your 4890....no way...a GTX560TI runs cooler and is twice as powerful for $225...(instead of buying the extra stuff need to watercool the GPU on top of the CPU.... The self contained CPU loops such as the higher-end ANTEC 920, Corsair H60 and up, are good enough and come with a warranty...I think if there is physical damage caused by a leak, that warranty covers damage...don't quote me on that, but it's worth a read.... for your Thermaltake case, it looks pretty much like my Thermaltake Armor jR...good looking, but lacking in the "airflow department"....I don't use that case anymore, because a cheap ANTEC 300 (equiped with a top 140mm fan and a 120mm exhaust) + 2 x 120mm fans is cooling better... Your 4890, like mentioned by Nightmare, is a hot -running biatch....the AC cooler might be your best best for now, but it will keep blowing that hot air from the GPU onto the other components in the case.....that heat would have to be exhausted somehow... and your case temperatures will IMHO get WARM... well there is NO way I am returning to intel I just got rid of my first and only intel mid last year and built this one. the 4890 was purchased about july last year. and as far as I am concerned nvidia can suck it as I always seem to find errors while running nvidia. sorry MoFo is it seems like I am dissing your advise as I absolutely love your advise on the artic cooler but for me I just cant stand intel and nvidia. I am running a 955 black on an AM3 socket. 2 intake fans 2-3 exhaust fans depending what I'm doing. like I said earlier my cpu and mb and overall sys is running cooler now that I am able to get more air across the card. I am in agreemance with you all I dont really wanna run liquid but I didnt know what else would tame those card temps. And just to put a nail in the fack I Love my system just ask dawgy if he would want to change anything about his system other than the amount of ram. I built 4 of these systems I am running now all with almost the same parts through and through. one for me one for lady one for rumncoke and one for dawgy. mine and ladys got a 4890 dawgy only got onboard and rumncoke got a gt220. again the later 2 want better cards dawgy got 8 gigs ram instead of 4 now I think. other than that these systems are really stable and good. the cpu stays cool everything is great other than the high vc temps. and wizid your running 2 2gb 4890 shit whats YOUR secret for not roasting marshmallows over your cards those gotta be smoking lol thanks for all your help I think i am gonna order the artic cooler as from the reviews it gets those numbers way down into check No problems dude! No need to go all intel/nvidia, as everythign is a matter of personal choice. I was just point at the fact that custom watercooling is expensive (you could buy a gfx card cooler and a nice case for half the price of watercooling) and, as others mentioned, is a PITA to maintain... My point: Good aftermarket air cooling + good, well ventilated case = win!!!

  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiTUuc2_PyA This is a clip that might help you....shown there is an Arctic cooling Accelero twin turbo... Well,it's 43 buck US... http://www.ncixus.com/products/48358/Twinturbopro/Arctic %20Cooling/ For the CPU...try something like a self-contained system, like a corsair H50, H60 or H70.... Anyway, please post your system specs and your case...that helps to propose stuff!!!
  19. Sonovabich Great if we do run server/s for this game, i was'nt aware there would be dedicated servers or if mod tools available, Rugger did say a while back that we would not run any more games until he deffo knew mod tools would be available.....and also don't forget we had a server for Bfbc2 and it only lasted a few weeks because of lack of interest. Oh, I see...lack of interest with BC2...it's weird, to some extent, because BC2 is still popular online...I guess our community is more COD-oriented....
  20. So SONOVA, What leads you to think XI won't support the game? That game looks pretty awesome.... My two 560Ti in SLI could possibly pump good framerates in the game....
  21. Pretty good point Harry. Those types are annoying....and it's true that it ruins the fun for many people. Being good at it is one thing, but being a bragging basta*d is another.
  22. Holy jeez! Lots of work involved. Thanks for letting us know. People got to realize there is a lot of work involved in this.
  23. Man of leisure, It's simple. With an SSD you DON'T want to use the HIBERNATION or SLEEP options....i's a big NO-NO. You can put your monitor to sleep, and your secondary hard drive. But for the SSD (which runs your operating system) it's a no go... It even SOMETIMES leads to the SSD not being recognized when coming out of hibernation... Some people say that if you uninstall the Intel RST drivers (which comes with your motherboard drivers), the issue is gone...I have no clue about that, I never tried. The RST is the Intel "rapid storage technology" driver, that is basically dealing with advanced storage options such as RAID... Things your want disabled on your PC if you run an SSD as a boot drive: -Hibernation and sleep (of the C: drive "the operating system drive") -Defragmentation (it wears out SSDs prematurely, and it's NOT NEEDED on an SSD) Things you MAY want to disable/mod if you run a 60GB SSD as a boot drive: -Page file on disk (you may use a "stored in RAM" option instead if you got 8GB or more RAM) -redirecting the internet CACHE from the SSD to a mechanical hard drive (usually your storage drive) NOTE: There is SSD utilities out there that tweak Windows to optimize for SSDs. It worked perfectly fine on my P45/socket 775 motherboard, but on my P67 platform, it did lead to file corruption on my Windows install (BSOD with "memory management" error code). Dunno, maybe it was just bad luck... So I re-installed Windows and modded myself (disable scheduled defrags, sleep and hibernating)... MOFO
  24. I'll also stuck on the 335KB file download off the redirect. Can't DL that file to 100%, so I'm stuck in a loop like Wimmpy. Oh well, it's normal in a trials and evaluations period. Keep up the good work for all personal involved!
  25. After this upcoming map pack, who knows what's gonna happen. It will be October time frame... -MW3 will come out...(or is that in November?) -BF3 will come out... who knows where we're going with this... Will the BO community will stay strong? Will people jump on COD MW3??? Will BF3 become the COD killer DICE claims it's gonna be? Will RUGGER/SENIOR ADMINS/ XI MEMBERS will try to get into the Battlefield series again (BC2 didn't get much love as far as I heard) Where will we put our money???
