Bazza, Your Athlon X2 4200+ has been made in 2 different version. The Socket 939 and the AM2...do it depends on the socket yours is... for a 939, it's so old, that you won't find any decent CPU more powerful that will really help (even the 4800+....made in 2005) The AM2 platform use to go up to 6400+, which is better, but not great ...still a really baseline processor by today's standard... In one case or another, it's not worth it to put money on these old platforms... You need another CPU/motherboard/ram combo and a decent graphics card (like a second-hand GTX260) and the powersupply that pushes it... I know how you feel...money doesn't grow in trees...a new box is what you need IMHO...a AMD PhenomII and a GTX460 would last you a few years.

Same here... I'm a junior member of the >XI< family, but I've been a senior admin of my former clan. I'm always willing to help in any way I can... We just need to weed out the players who are whining, accusing people and insulting the clan members... I guess it's common with new games, new players that randomly connect to whatever servers they can get their hands on... I'm sure Tball and other admins will "sanitize" the >XI< servers!!!

Well, If somebody is willing to get into the CTF server when it's empty, it will fill up. Always the same story...pplz join busy servers...we just need to "populate" the server to get people in! FFA and TDM will fill themselves easy...we just need to put some time in the CTF and it will stay full too... I love FREE-FOR-ALL, it's the best training to become a good shot. First person shooters without FFA/Deathmatch? Like TSW8.5 said...there is no such thing as a Freezetag war... shoot first to live!!! I like DOMINATION too. I wouldn't mind a CTF-DOM-HQ server...everything BUT S&D...S&D is painful with those "respawn next round"... My two cents...

Yes, The INTEL SandyBridge and AMD BULLDOZER are looking promising. The actual Intel sockets (1156 i5 and 1366 i7) will be replaced by 1155pins and 2011 pins... There is quite a few new things coming out, making the new year an interesting time to upgrade...it's always a good time to grab existing technology at bargain price, but it reduces your upgrade path... There will be more and more 6-core processors and some 8-cores coming up too, (Intel 6-cores and AMD 8-cores). Can't wait for the new AMD HD6970 cards (and dual GPU HD6990) to come out in December...to seen if they're beating nVIDIA... competition is good for the customers!!!!

As much as it drives me nuts, this Call Of Duty stuff is one of the greatest cash cow ever for a publisher...I guess that if they sold 5 million copies this week, and they managed to get it running half decent Friday, and now saturday, there is all the "couldn't buy it during the week cause I didn't have time" are buying it and a few millions more copies sold real quick this week-end... More and more people playing this blockbuster. Might be REAL hard on Gameservers /TREYARCH master servers and stuff... I'm NOT trying to make excuses for them...I like the game, I feel like I'll ply it a lot. Once it's fixed, it's gonna be the real COD4 "replacement"... hopefully, they'll sort their "shyte" up before tonight!!!!!!!!! RAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, for the voice chat thing, as it's a new game, the XI servers will be flooded by noobs that don't know the clan, don't realize you're "in your home server" and will tell ya to STFU... A few of us have been insulted already on our servers...always like that with the big influx of new players..with so many new servers and customers, it will take time (and kicking and banning) before our servers make a name for themselves... I've been playing FFA on server no.3 yesterday, and been called retard, noob, hacker and the like. A few other guys from our XI family got the same treatment..admin nightmare!!!! lol

My take on that. Look at the new GTX580 that just came out. They're running cooler than GTX480, while being about 20% to 30% more powerful. some already come with waterblocks...expensive tho. Look for EVGA GTX580 FTW Hydrocopper...way too expensive for my blood. I don't what computer you own now, but with AMD "Bulldozer" 8 core CPUs coming in March next year, and Intel "SandyBridge" CPUs coming in next year also, It might be a good idea to hold off for a few months...my 2 cents... For SSDs, I'd rather go single SSD for TRIM support, than a RAID...a 120GB would be more than enough for OS drive...no need to fork 600$ for a 240GB SSD! Go OCZ Vertex 2 Sandforce! 3 year warranty and the best customer support (their forum is really alive).. HAF-X is nice, you might just need a 8-pin PCI-E extension cable to route the 8-pin ATX cable to the mobo. Good luck...that a whole lot of money you're planning to spend! I'm waiting for Bulldozer or Sandy bridge, see how they fare, before I replace my OCed Q9550 @ 3.8GHz / HD5870 combo...

Which server are you playing on Chile? I'm mostly on the no.3 FFA. domination could be good too down the road. I wonder if XI COD4 people will migrate on COD7, reducing the amount of COD4 servers and turn them into COD7 rigs...

I was playing on Server 1 CTF, when >XI< Ukildme got banned also, so obscure reasons...wonder how long these bans are?

Yes I hear that X-ray. the HD6970s (HD5870 replacements) are a little late. Also, the price on the new HD6850 and HD6870 are a little higher than the MSRP (suggested retail price)... My HD5870 is still pushing strong, although the GTX580 look appealing....hardware porn!

I hear pretty good thing about the nVIDIA GTX460 and the Radeon HD6850/HD6870...they are mid-high range cards and can be good options if you need a replacement.

I think the >XI< servers aren't up yet, I might be wrong tho.

Mikey, It's downloaded automatically via STEAM...no need to find it...it will find you! In you steam settings, go to games...you get the list of installed games. Then right click on the game >properties>updates tab...it should be set to automatically DL the updates... now it's fixed for me...the download restarted and went thru..

Howdy, I think STEAM DLed a patch to fix BO MP and I can't get back in the MP!!!! It now says "incomplete installation" and stops at 1%... Anybody else has the same issue?

Try to look for a Cheap GTX460. They are really sweet little cards for a good price. They perform like GTX285, but support DX11 and HDMI. Even a second-hand GTX260 Core 216 would be a 50% upgrade! On the CPU/motherboard front, look for cheap CPU/motherboard combos that can be cheap enough. Athlon II X4, Phenom II X3 and X4... dunno the real incidence of the decreased hyper transport speed.

It works for me! I knew it wasn't my computer. Hopefully, it's permanent. Mine was set to SLI/Crossfire 1 and I have a single card . Mine was set to multithread 0 and I have a Quad... so I guess the default config was using only one core on the CPU....
