lol....can we turn this icon into a medal and make it to replace the 1000 posts button? Just a suggestion here lolz!

Hey MAGNUS.... PLEASE expand on that....going from 5870 to GTX570...how different is it? I have 5870...playing at 1680 X 1050... The GTX570 is a great card, and a nice upgrade over the 470 (overheating biatch)

Just for a test we are gonna move 1 BO server to the Netherlands
CplMOFO replied to Ruggerxi's topic in Other Games
Sorry, can't seen to find that server. Is it intended for our "overseas" players to keep the pings low? -
I agree with you folks...this game is frustrating. They'll be fixing it, but for map size? It will take a few months at least before we see new maps right?
-
Yes, It's hard to play TDM as a team, because the enemy team's location is always shifting...it's like being a shepperd dog running after the cows to funnel them towards the corral.... In CTF or DOM, two gametypes that have FIXED objectives, you can make proper use of cover, you can expect the enemy moves and paths...it more strategic!!! I have a hell of a good time playing CTF or DOM I know that much...

Hi all, I think it's a good idea to regroup everybody's thoughts on the BO MIXED server. First, I find that since it's been switched to RANKED, and that we're running different game types, the server is FULL, it's awesome!!! Althought it CI like the other servers, it doesn't do it as much (as of yet anyway). I really DIG: CTF and DOMINATION, SABOTAGE is not bad... Search & DESTROY is really annoying tho...too much waiting time between respawn...gives you the time to fall asleep.... Does a lot of members enjoy the S & D? If not, PLZ post here, so our admins can make an educated decision on what we prefer... S&D blows goats IMHO!!! MOFO

An easy get-around is to buy a mobo with SOLID caps. Most of Gigabyte's durable series and mid-high end ASUS boards are sporting solid caps. Solid caps aren't 100% fail safe, but they are 10 times more durable on average than regular electrolytic caps.

When you're at it Stormcrow, can you post your computer specs, CPU, mother board and RAM? For cases, a good $50 could get you a nice case IF you pay the REAL price for it...for cheap good cases, I like the Antec 300 myself. I comes with one 120mm exhaust out the back (3-speed adjustable), one 140 mm exhaust on top (3-speed adjustable) and there is room for two OPTIONAL 120mm fans for intake... WASHABLE AIR INTAKE FILTERS.....is a must...the Antec 300 has it... For Powersupply, a good 60-70$ on a hand-picked Powersupply can get you something great and durable...again your corner-store "dink" will recommend you a POS and sell it for gold!!!!!!!

Yea! Good old WASP! L.O.V.E machine, I wanna be somebody School Daze and all that good stuff...Blackie Lawless was evil for it's time...lol compared to Twisted Sisters "make up paint in the face" lol
-
Just use google "image" and type bad caps, blown capacitors or something. You'll get to see images of different kinds of caps, either blown, leaking, buldging... sometimes, the upgrade of one component leads to a whole lot more when you're been misguided by a salesman, or the next-door "expert"...
-
you PSU might hold, but that guy has no clue....he'll try to sell you another PSU, a POS that he'll sell you for double the price...You'll end up paying more and more...anyway you can force him to take the card back and refund you? After all, he's the one telling you your computer (with blown caps) is good enough...and was ready to take that card... He should've have given you better advices...instead he got you into a downward spiral... The total system draw of a "REGULAR" system with a GTS450 inside will draw about 250watts...so you are pushing the system to it's limits with a crappy ol PSU....you'll end up with blue screens.... Before you buy another PSU, tell us how much you want to pay. Also, take pictures of the capacitors I wanna see that...no sense buying anything now if the motherboard gonna die soon...
-
StormCrow, This is your new SOP (standing operating procedures). 1- Ask for advices first. 2- Slowly start to get to know a little more about your hardware....browse forums like here or reputable hardware forums. 3-always compare prices with online retailers. Look here for pics of leaky or blown capacitor. http://www.google.ca/images?hl=en&q=capacitor%20leaking&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1680&bih=857 EDIT...FAIL posting link..lol If some of the capacitors are slowly dying, I would start shopping ASAP... 4-Never trust "corner store" salesman/owner EVER, without double checking. No shame bro, stuff happens. And like Wizid said, it's not TOO bad...but you could've got a GTX460 for the same price at Newegg, providing that the shipping is free like in the Zotac deal ($129 after mail-in rebate)...and you can do the job by yourself (with our help) anybody knowledgeable here can talk you into a simple install procedure using voice chat and pictures. Don't hesitate to PM, or ask advices!!!! PM me anytime I volunteer!!! I'm 200% sure that we can help you do the job by yourself next time... For your Power supply, might be fine...what is it exactly? (Brand, model, wattage....)

Can somebody, anybody help me understand what our friend Cheese is going on about? I think he's crazy....
-
Actually, Our FFA crashes even more often that the TDM...FFA is in chicago, TDM in New Jersey...does it matter?
-
I haven't played much on the SP part yet, but you're right, they managed to pull nice graphics out of that "oldie" game engine... I'm still at the "baikonour" Rocket launch facility...=(

There must be at least one lady against it....like toothpick mentioned "no peer pressure!!!" I don't mean to "party poop" that sort of stuff...I like boobs!

Some more info on the same topic... Call of Duty: Black Ops is getting a few more multiplayer-focused patches, according to the game's official forum. Patches for the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 versions are all inbound to attack issues like a rabid pack of dogs after an eleven-man killstreak. On the PC side, the notorious care package glitch is said to be disabled in the new wave of fixes. Using the glitch, players have been able to spawn an infinite number of care package, SAM turret, and sentry gun killstreak rewards--making the online experience understandably unbearable at times. Also on the menu is the correction of map specific clipping tricks players have been able to utilize to shoot through surfaces, improvements to spawning, and more. Well, at least they're not blind or deaf....they'll do something about it...

I despise S&D...the waiting time when you die blows seriously.....I'm willing to play everything else. Like Ukildme mentioned, we've been sticking on the FFA to get people in and it doesn't take long to get 6 people, then, the server fills up pretty quick... Every blackops player from this clan, that really wants the servers to be popular, should spend a little bit of time on the FFA. Please don't be lazy and go for the already filled TDM... FFA needs some LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might come-in handy. Thanks for posting! MOFO

Nice! At least they acknowledge that their "creation" is not perfect....that's a good start...It took 5 major patches for World at War to be running good and without a hitch... Hopefully, it won't take that many patches to fix this one....

I guess the main reason Crysis is not more popular is the fact that it requires a powerful rig. As most people playing FPS were using "middle or the road" graphics cards that weren't faring well in Ctysis, people didn't buy it... This game has been used as a reference benchmark for graphics cards since it came out. The famous question "can it run Crysis" has been asked million times and created bad publicity IMHO. STEAM HARDWARE SURVEY: http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/ Most popular GFX cards are still the ATI HD48** and NVidia 8800GT-9800GT...then it drops at 8600GT (not exactly CRYSIS -ready) Crysis (including Crysis wars) is now selling for $19.99 CDN at Wally-mart, I might grab it during the holidays and give it a shot.
-
Sounds promising! 10.12...wait and see! Also, I can't wait for HD6970 to come out, to see if it equals or beats GTX580....
-
Nice that you got it working again Baldie! GTX470s are nice and powerful, but they run real warm, just be careful to have enough cooling around it...
-
I set MAX FPS to 125. I get between 90-125 fps, more often 110-125fps. Q9550 @ 3.8GHz 4 gig XFX Radeon HD5870. Win7 64 bits Resolution 1680 X 1050, settings 4 X AA, 8 X AF, all other settings to max. Your 8600Gt is getting a little "long in the tooth". Your Quad, while being a good CPU, could be pushed to 3.0GHZ without much trouble if you are interested in purchasing an aftermarket cooler and if your motherboard have appropriate overclocking options..... Careful, look at your Power supply's capacity and connectors before shopping for Graphics cards... You can look for GTX460s, Radeon HD6850 or 6870... all within the $170-$250.. (high midrange gaming cards) There is new cards coming out soon, so expect price drops on above-mentioned cards... GTX570 is coming soon (Dec 7th)...using the same vapor-chamber heatsink....Radeon HD6950 and HD6970 are coming out also this month (Dec.13th I think), both will target the $350-$450 price range I suspect... If you need help, either use PM, or post in the computer section of the forum!!!

Seems like a nice game. There is also DeusEX that will be real nice!!!!
