Folks... PHUCKITMAN needs help. His system crashed and it's no wonder, it's a piece of shit. If you've been reading the threads, he's asked for advice on how to get it back up and running, but he's running an ancient system with an 80 GB HD, no burner, 1GB of memory and Windows XP. He needs a new system but can't afford even to replace the hard drive - if that's what's wrong with it. It appears to be a SATA drive from what he says, so he can always put that into a new system to get all his data. So, let's get him a system. He's got a decent video card, a GeForce 9800 GTX. He just needs a good box to put it in. That will cost no more than $400. If only 20 of us kick in just $20 each, he's there. The easiest way to do this is someone collects the cash, and then sends it to P-Man who can pick up a new computer locally. And the easiest way to do that may be to use the clan's PayPal donor program to collect the donations. I don't know if that is possible so can whoever handles that let us know? What think everyone. Can we get this done?

Good advice but I'm puzzled about the "windows notification to verify my copy" that you always had to click on at every boot. I don't know of any Windows OS that asks that question every boot. What are running? You said it booted OK and you later had to hit reset. Why did you have to do that? What happened; did you get an error message; did it lock? It sound like the HD but usually you know that's coming; you start to see errors all over the place as sectors go bad. If that hasn't been your experience, it could be the mobo. Do you get a POST when you boot? Have you checked all connections; taken out all cards and put them back in?

Yupper, Pigdog's got it right. I have some nerve problems due to a stroke and no way can use a mouse. I use a modified Panther XL trackball/joystick combo for all gaming - two hats and 14 binds in all with keyboard emulation. Hacks R Us

Some years ago I junked a system without checking the disc drivet- it had disc 1 of the 6 needed for COD2 in it. So when I'd get a new system, I'd just borrow disc 1 from a friend. Last time I did that, I burned a disc copy of disc 1 so I wouldn't have to bother him any more. So today, the new system arrives and I've got COD4 and 5 going gangbusters, and start on installing 2. I put in my burned copy of disc 1 and it installed, and then went through the other five discs before it asked to reinsert disc 1 again. At that point, it doesn't find whatever the hell it's looking for on disc 1 to finalize the installation. I take it some kind of security feature didn't get copied?? Anybody know where I can download disc 1? Thanks all

You'd think by now that Microsoft would allow their OS to move all installed apps/upgrades, etc. from one register to a new one through the LAN or via cable. This is grossly unfair. I just can't believe that we'd treat the ladies of XI in this fashion. Speaking on their behalf, I insist that the girls be given a head start in every single map. It's just not right that the fairer sex, who are just not programmed for vioilence as are we men, be asked to complete on level footing. I don't think they do it for everyone. Truth is, I "leveraged" my complaint. I approve system purchases for my company and have an account with Dell. I made mention that I've bought some 80 systems from them over the past 10 years and carefully documented my complaint, using their own rep's observations of the problem enabling SLI on the XPS 630i. But I am very surprised that they're installing the 460s - just came out. The i5 is also a major advance over the Core 2 Duo in the current machine.
