  1. Thanks for the link. I'll have to dig into this a bit more. I run GameBooster before I play. It shuts down non-essential apps and services and frees up as much memory as possible. Maybe that app's the problem, but I've been running it for a few months with no issues. I'll try updating my PB first to see if that stops this annoyance from happening again
  2. Any idea as to what could cause PB to kick me for this? No new apps/programs other than Microsoft and Adobe updates. Really strange. - Astronomer
  3. Definitely don't go low with your PSU rated wattage. If your PSU can't give you the juice that you need, you'll get odd system problems, crashes etc. I found that out 3 years ago or so. My current rig has a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750w (before PCP&C were bought) and it's an awesome unit. When I build my next rig, it'll have a 1200-1500w power supply to power dual video, multiple drives etc. The current issue of CPU (Computer Power User) has a large review of current power supplies, and ranks them from budget, mid-range to high-end. Well worth the read. FWIW, I'm scoping out Corsair, Cooler Master, Antec, and OCZ brands. Look for units that are 80 Plus Certified "Gold" - these are higher efficiency, quieter, and cooler. Good luck!
  4. Agreed! This group and the servers are a blast, and that just doesn't happen automagically. lots of hard work happens by a dedicated group behind the scenes. <standing ovation>
  5. Thanks for the pic. Nice to put faces to the voices!
  6. My obsessive Border Collies would go apeshit over that! Time to look online for some plans....
  7. Nice! My mind is in the gutter...
  8. Found on slashdot.org: "In the wake of Intel's announcement that all existing Sandy Bridge chipsets have a bug that causes degraded Serial ATA performance, top-tier motherboard makers Asus and Gigabyte have made public statements regarding their return policy for affected boards. Asus is promising 'hassle-free return and/or replacement', while Gigabyte says owners of affected boards are entitled to a full refund or replacement—and it recommends that users seek refunds. Both companies are advising users to contact the original place of purchase to proceed. On a related note, Gigabyte has announced that new Sandy Bridge motherboards with bug-free chipsets will be available in volume in April."
  9. Damn! The system moved 100km more north than forecast, a big dry-slot formed, and a good chunk of the storm's energy transferred to the coastal low. Blizzard warning's ended in SW Ontario, streets are plowed, and my driveway is cleared. No snow day for me

  11. Awesome vids LittleTooT!!!
  12. ...but y'know, we Canadians can handle it, or at least some of us can.
  13. Nice one Merlin! I like the subtle glow.
  14. ...Geeez! I see a couple of hairy nuts to my left and right! Does that make me a dick???
  15. Thanks folks! That picture means a lot to me. 1Deerhunter only likes it because that's him on the left!
  16. I was scratching my head this afternoon trying to figure out what sort of sig I could/should use when posting in the forums. I looked over on my bookcase and I saw a picture that 1Deerhunter's wife made for me as a gift last year (she made a unique one for each of us in the photo). I just made a very slight modification to it on my helmet, and there it is. The four of us started playing Medal of Honor together at least a decade ago and we still get together a couple or more times a week, now on the XI servers. Cheers, - Astronomer>XI<
  17. Congrats Dude! Been there recently, I know exactly where you're at. Uncertainty will eat you from the inside in the worst way. Having a regular paycheque takes the edge off things, reduces uncertainty, and lets you focus on the things that really matter in life. I sincerely wish you all the best in your new job. I once worked for an ex-GF. If you're both adults about it, it's not a big deal.
  18. Too bad John Frusciante left the band - an amazing guitar player.
  19. Get well soon bro'. You're a good shit to play with and against, except those times when you've shot me ;-) See you in the maps soon!
  20. Welcome lilgreasy! Nice to see another gunner wearing the tags!
  21. Thanks Nick - that's what I was looking for.
