Don't have to worry about that with newer motherboards that have UEFI bios. If it's not the correct one it won't even try to install it. However Once you install a New bios update you can not install a slightly Older Bios update without re-installing the original bios without bricking the motherboard. That's why they still have the OEM or Original Bios available for download. Some motherboards have Dual Bios which you can switch between to recover from a bad update or corrupt bios due to overvolting components such as the CPU/NB which is needed for increased system stability while overclocking above a certain speeds. On pre UEFI motherboards you could accidentally install the wrong bios as long as it was made for that bios manufacturer such as AMI (American Megatrends) or Award Modular or Award Medallion. Installing the wrong bios update on a Pre UEFI motherboard would corrupt the Bios and basically brick the motherboard unless you were to send it to the manufacturer and have them reprogram or replace the bios chip. A bios chip is basically a simple programmable EEPROM with several layers similar to what is in most modern TVs.

Make sure that you disable the onboard sound in your Bios. This will keep windows update from re-downloading the drivers for your onboard sound. It might of been just a glitch in your Bios Firmware. Did you try to update your Bios? The B450 boards had multiple Bios updates and 1 that makes the 3rd gen Ryzen chips work with a B450. The latest Bios update for that board is Version 2202 and it was just updated 2020/07/17. 1 of the many "fixes" included in the update is "Fixed HDMI and DP sound issue". They had 16 Bios updates for that paticular board since it was released. https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/TUF-B450-PLUS-GAMING/HelpDesk_BIOS/ Never EVER use any Realtek sound drivers that are not on your motherboards support site. Realtek drivers have always been a pain in the ass because once you install 1, it will rite over and replace the old driver but it leaves all of the old crap in your registry. Only way that I have found to fix that problem is to either spend many many hours sorting through the registry and deleting all entries and files related to Realtek (most of the time you will not get all of it) or Format and reinstall windows. With Realtek drivers my rule of thumb is "If it works DO NOT UPDATE IT!" lol

"Monday" Oinks!

Update. He's back at the house. He stayed up there for a couple of days and completed his Cemo. He's doing much much better. Swelling in his lymph nodes went down significantly and he is walking around better. They are going to send a hot nurse down once a week to check vitals and stuff for a few weeks but he's doing better. Not out of the woods by a long shot but atleast he's doing better. Thank you guys and gals for your comments and prayers. It helps more than you can imagine.

My dad is sick. He just turned 70 years old and 16 years ago he had double bypass surgery. He is type 2 diabetic and 1 1/2 years ago he had kidney failure caused by 1 of the drugs that the doc gave him. He also had what they called a "mild" heart attack because his kidneys shut down and his blood was full of toxins. He had to go in for dialysis every couple of days for 7 months. His kidney function came back to just over 80% from 4%. Not perfect but working well and getting slightly better with each checkup. He has a pace maker to deal with the what his doctor said is a "slightly irregular heart rate" caused by the "mild" heart attack. 3 weeks ago he went in to have a lump on his leg scanned and possibly removed. They ended up removing 1 of his lymph nodes from under his arm. They tested it and found it to be cancerous. He has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and it's also in his bone marrow. He started Chemotherapy 2 days ago and 1/2 way through his 1st treatment he starting having chest pains. They sent him home after 4 of hours of observation and told him to come back up this morning to continue his treatment. This morning they scanned and x-rayed and did all sorts of tests and found nothing wrong with his ticker. They found no blockages or anything out of the ordinary. They are keeping him in hope to find the cause of his chest pains. They are in contact with his cardiologist (heart doctor) and his nephrologist (kidney doctor) in hops to adjust his medications. Last time they "adjusted" his meds he almost died. After they figure out what is causing his chest pains they plan on completing his 1st Chemotherapy treatment. My dad is the most obnoxious, self righteous, self-centered, stubborn asshole that I've even known but he's my dad and I love him with all of my heart. I'm not the praying type but if anyone can send a few his way it would be very very much appreciated by me and mum. They are shutting down visitations at the hospital that he is at on Monday? 2 hours after mom came home this was on the news. This is pretty fucked up because they said absolutely nothing to mom about this while she was up with dad all day today and yesterday.
