How long did you wait? Did you get any kind of error? Does the Numb Lock or Cap Lock key work still? Things to try. Remove software that might cause a problem. Remove any non necessary hardware. Run CCleaner for both removing files and fix registry. Make sure no spyware on computer. Run a check disk to make sure you don't have bad spots. If you computer hits a bad spot in can keep trying that stop and get locked. Not sure if still a problem but it was before on installed of XP. Have not run into to the problem in a while. The last thing I can think of is update your bios.
