    Wife here: Thanks everyone. Not sure what I did but managed to not only get it to load without crashing (most times) but also load maps. Hopefully he will be online to play again soon.

    Installed all patches on new pc, however finding that the game will not load properly, it just drops back to windows screen. It will load perfectly fine when first starting up pc
