Thanks for all the hard work Boom! I have some smaller questions about cod4x. Is it possible to change the font size, like when you're looking at the team's scores in-game (I hold down tab). They seem to be bigger now with cod4x and take up much more room when I'm trying to see both teams scores. Is there a way to change the HUD? It seems to be zoomed further out with smaller icons than it was previously. And lastly, does cod4x change the color? My game seems darker, with richer color, after going cod4x. Is there a way to get back to how it was before color-wise? I'm happy just being able to play, in light of everyone else's struggles. I was just curious if I could tweak some stuff and make it a lil mo betta. Thanks again!

I seem to have found the pathway... and deleted the bad map file so hopefully it'll download correctly next time it comes up. "VirtualStore"... who knew.

I was playing CoD 4 Modern Warfare and it started downloading the map mp_csg_crossfire and then crashed. I came back in and it started connecting and then goes black screen and crashes. It'd seem I have a bad version of the map, so I have been looking for the location of these files, but can't seem to locate them. I play on a regular disc copy of the game (not steam). From my research, it'd seem they should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\usermaps\. I don't seem to have the "usermaps" folder there. Anyone know where I could look or what to do? Thanks much!

Oy, this happened to me a few months back and what triggered it was me opening steam and doing things there. It ended up cooking my normal game that I play from an OG game copy, nixing my cdkey, like what happened to you. I don't know what Steam does when you open it, but it changed stuff in my normal game folders. I had to google it and get into the registry to update the key code like you did. I saw someone talking about locking folders so they couldn't be overwritten by other programs, but perhaps that'd screw up playing the game normally, because it'd need to be written to then as well. I don't know, I'm just not wanting to open Steam now to do anything because it screwed my game up so much. When I fixed it, modded stuff came all back, but the normal stuff didn't return. I could upload a backup I have somewhere of my stuff, but I just don't play much on non-modded servers. Glad you figured it out Raisin!

Perhaps I'm incorrect on the map name. I thought I saw that when the map was loading. Athena's probably right

When the Mohaa map loaded, I got the "Exceeded limit of 400 'fx' assets" and I couldn't connect (and I think nobody else could). Thanks for all your hard work!

I got permanently banned too from call of duty 5 - world at war freeze tag server, hope it was a mistake(?)

I use an MSI gaming laptop that goes to external monitors. I think most gaming laptops tend to overheat. I've been very happy with my setup though I don't know about upgrading it. I got it at Costco when it went on sale for a few hundred off.
