Password screen for what?

If you don't have a valid code, you would need to purchase/get one. If you have a good code from a previously purchased game, it should still work. Have you played using a physical CD or steam in the past? If you have a game installed on your computer the code is stored in your system registry. You can use google and ask, "Where is my Call of Duty World at War cd key saved in my system registry?" I've had to do this when fixing problems. Do you have the game? Is it installed on your computer? Do you have/can you find a good cd key? Those are the big questions...

For CoD WaW, from my vantage point, the big issue is that they no longer issue valid cd keys (12 key code that used to be printed on little paper manual with a physical game). If you download the game on steam, you will still have the problem (they don't give you a valid key). So, I recently set up a couple games on different machines (for my kids) by just buying physical copies on ebay (that came with the valid cd keys). They hadn't been used before... I wasn't sure if a used copy/key would work, so I just bought them still in their original plastic wrap. Patched them up to the correct level and they both work great. Hope this helps.

Thanks much Cecilia! That explains a lot and now I don't have to feel as bad if/when my scores aren't great. It went from 12 kills equals a defrost to 1.2 kills equals a defrost.

Anyone know how many points for kills and defrosts were on the old mod compared to the new one?

I ended up deleting my profile and creating a new one because I wasn't ranking up on another server. This ended up correcting my font size and HUD size I mentioned previously. So, it'd seem the issue was my profile. Nice to fix stuff, even when I wasn't trying to!

Thanks for all the hard work Boom! I have some smaller questions about cod4x. Is it possible to change the font size, like when you're looking at the team's scores in-game (I hold down tab). They seem to be bigger now with cod4x and take up much more room when I'm trying to see both teams scores. Is there a way to change the HUD? It seems to be zoomed further out with smaller icons than it was previously. And lastly, does cod4x change the color? My game seems darker, with richer color, after going cod4x. Is there a way to get back to how it was before color-wise? I'm happy just being able to play, in light of everyone else's struggles. I was just curious if I could tweak some stuff and make it a lil mo betta. Thanks again!

I seem to have found the pathway... and deleted the bad map file so hopefully it'll download correctly next time it comes up. "VirtualStore"... who knew.

I was playing CoD 4 Modern Warfare and it started downloading the map mp_csg_crossfire and then crashed. I came back in and it started connecting and then goes black screen and crashes. It'd seem I have a bad version of the map, so I have been looking for the location of these files, but can't seem to locate them. I play on a regular disc copy of the game (not steam). From my research, it'd seem they should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\usermaps\. I don't seem to have the "usermaps" folder there. Anyone know where I could look or what to do? Thanks much!
