Yep, that's how I got it working.

Just got a Steam copy for COD2 and when I try launching MP I get a black screen. Task manager shows as not responding. Any help would be appreciated. (I have my USB headset connected) (I finally got it working.)

Hello Idiots! As you may have already guessed it's the one and only PickleRick (PickleDick... whatever lol). I've been playing on the MW2 ftag server for a while now and I've been enjoying my time there since. Great mod, great people where I always felt welcomed and haven't really played much of anything else to be honest so I saw it reasonable that I, with your will, could become a member of this grand family of idiots.

Your previous pc as well? Hmm i dont know how to help you in that case but i'd recommend you use the cod4x patch in the future as it gives a smoother experience.

It is for everyone but it doesn't save the progress of modded servers. I think all it does now is it saves campaign progress.

No its still cod4. cod4x is the community patch that allows you to play on servers like XI. If you look down on the right side after oppening the game you will see the patch name and version. I've had the same problem as you and solved it that way.

Profiles are not found on the game's folder directory. Instead COD4x saves them in the AppData folder inside a separate folder named CallofDuty4MW. C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\CallofDuty4MW Now AppData is a "hidden folder" so you manually have to type it above. Take the whole CallofDuty4MW folder from your previous pc and put in into the same directory on your new one after having installed the game.

Agree with ya. But the lag is also related to the server using version 1.7 instead of cod4x.

I would certainly love to attend. I have no TeamSpeak but I've joined on the sniper server yesterday as well. Maybe you could find something there.

I haven't used any other name. As I said yesterday was my first time playing COD2 and I've only used PickleRick. If you can't track any record don't worry I mostly play cod4 anyways just wanted to check it out.
