Hey all! My real name is Regan, I'm form Albania and I live in Tirana. My in-game nickname is PickleRick or as some cool idiots call me: Rickle and Piccalilli (I won't mention the one they often say when they get killed by me lol). About 2 years ago I discovered this community on the COD4 MW2 modded server completely randomly and haven't left since. It's come to a point where I no longer play for the score or kills, but for the people and the great time we share together. I enjoy the fact that there's no dumb rules and it's always about having fun and relaxing. I've also explored a bit more out of COD4 and have met some other great people on your COD2 servers. The most frequent method is as Totty said but another way would be to manually install the patch by doing the following: (Download the zip file below) Copy the folder "cod4-client-manualinstall_21.0", but not its content, into your cod4 game folder. Enter the folder cod4-client-manualinstall_21.0. Run install.cmd cod4x_client_21_1.zip

You can also find commands on the console. Just type chat and you'll see a list of commands related to that searched word. When you've fully typed the command in below is shown a value range (in this case 0 to 8).

Press ~ (to open console) then type the following: cg_chatTime 60000 Hit enter and you're good to go.

Thank you Totty! I was very glad to assist even though I wasn't quite able to prevent it from crashing. Looked at the event logs, fixed some persistent errors but that didn't seem to help. The memory error was obviously not the reason since I checked both the SSD space (plenty) and ran a RAM test to check and fix RAM health. Updated the graphics drivers. Booted in safe mode and tried running COD4 in compatible settings... As @Hatchetman mentioned it could quite probably be a hardware reason. (An error she gets often. I even did the following to prevent it: Registry Editor. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform. Create/set EnableFrameServerMode registry DWORD to 0. Reboot UPDATE: Installing the cod4x patch fixed it.
