ok I have on board audio with a asrock board but running NVidia 560 and have no problem . only time should be using NVidia audio is to the tv and for it to work properly I think u have to use hdmi from the card to tv not dvi to hdmi adapter. also in my device manager it shows. I hope this helps . by the way my mic is usb. that might be different . I also use 5.1 head phone but have a adapet or double input to put head phone and speakers on same line.a splitter.

well I put in a support ticket and wrote them a email .
