  1. True but it may be a month before it comes
  2. Looks like loads of complaints and removing pre-orders does have a bit of an influence...maybe crytek is getting better at listening to the community.
  3. Sorry I don't know 3ds max, I use google sketchup because its free. Having said that I've never had any success using cryengine exporter, I've always had to manually zip and unzip and use the converter programs to convert the collada to cgf. And I'm running vista right now so it doesn't even let me do that properly, so I had to send the files to my mom's computer (with xp) and convert them there, then send them back to my pc to import them into crysis...so needless to say I gave up on that project for now.
  4. Any other good games coming out in the next few months? Should I go buy starcraft 2 instead of crysis 2? I only buy one game per year and it looks like Crytek is trying to run a broomstick up the butt of pc gamers to me. They better come up with something soon to alleviate the clear disregard to pc gaming in favor of the xLax gay60 or they won't be getting my 60 bucks...I'll just wait for a free trial weekend to try it out.
  5. Not a great game if you have to use a crappy controller to play it...or if you can't map your keys the way you want to.
  6. Bah they gonna ruin this game Microsoft must have "accidentally" dropped a suitcase full of cash in yerli's office. I wonder if PC will have "mouse and keyboard" support...lol.
  7. I feel so noob when I read about these rigs u guys have and are building...my core 2 duo 6850 @ 3.0 ghz and 4 x 1.0 gb ddr2 @ 667 seem...incredibly weak. Yet still I can play Crysis wars with decent frames as long as the servers have less than about 15 players. Maybe by this fall I'll be looking at an upgrade myself...just maybe.
  8. I have had minimal issues other than a couple of crashes and sound lapse, but I'm not convinced that either of those are server related because they happen occasionally in Crysis wars too.
  9. I'm in if it is an all day/evening event. Will be working most all days but will gladly jump in afterwards. No problem with the name mixing myself, but you could go with: RIP Killa & Chester OpenHouse for clarification.
  10. Sorry Ray...I dread the day that my buddy George passes on...he looks alot like Chester but is bob tailed, and he was also born in 2002. Hang in their my friend, time will ease the pain but a friend that close will never be forgotten.
  11. A bittersweet day for me. I'll miss the mixed but I can't help but get excited about the future with Crysis 2 in less than 3 months...hopefully :/. Thanks for all the hard work put into keeping the server going for almost 2 years, and thanks for all the fun I had getting to own you guys .
  12. Cool, will try to get in tomorrow to see what is the happening.
  13. We were discussing some things about offroad last night and Cobryis mentioned he had a couple of other versions he was working on that might ease some of the raping...not sure you can get rid of all of it, but you can limit it. Not sure why there is so many angry children...must be rap music :0.
  14. Nice tutorial you found there ray.
  15. I volunteer the Mixed since it is dead...if people will actually play MW. I'd be game for some MW again.
  16. You are correct about the silencer, but I find that it is an overrated feature. It is recommended if you are using a stealthier approach to game play, but not necessarily beneficial if you are using the assault methods that I have outlined. In most cases the enemy should be able to hear your movements and find you through sound (especially if you plan to use speed or armor which I use constantly). I rarely if ever use the radar for that reason, I almost always hear my enemies before I see them unless they are sniping. Also, the radar is useless in detecting cloaked players, so it is not entirely reliable and shouldn't be overused IMO. We have been fiddling quite a bit with the servers...and yes it is too bad that wars is so dead because there is quite a bit of fun to be had. Too many other good games out there I guess.
  17. Yes sir we got ur back buddy.
  18. Yes I remember him. And I have spoken to a couple of players myself that miss the hardcore in dx9.
  19. 6. Spectatingand Practice Spectating and practice seems like a straight forwardlesson…but it is a bit more complicated than one might expect. Spectating Spectating is only useful if you have some patience and knowwhat to look for. You don’t always learngood techniques by picking the player in first place, or a player who gets alot of kills, or even a player with a high kill/death ratio. However, if any of these are conditions notmet…the player is probably not worth taking the time to watch. It may also be helpful to look for playersfrom well known skilled clans if you know any. It is also helpful to know what to look for in playerstyle. Some players types are snipers, tank or vtol whores, cloakers, and of course assault style (which is what Iprefer and have been teaching on for the most part). You should pick players that suit to yourstyle to improve you core gameplay, but you should also take the time to learnthe techniques of players’ styles that are good at that particular style tobetter understand what you are up against. It can also improve your all around game, as you will need to know thebasics of each style so that you can use them when necessary. There are a few different styleswithin the assault style to add to the mix including: full rush and close range types, long rangeuse of cover and defensive types, and the more balanced rush and covertypes. There will be players that relyheavily on speed, some more heavily on armor, and some that use a bit of both(me). There will be some that use lotsof movement (this is most helpful for the rushers), and there will be othersthat prefer to use more cover and less rushing. It is good to get a feel for several different styles within your corestyle so that you can figure out which techniques suit your play style thebest, and once again so you will know what to expect from other players. It is also good to get on youtubeand find some tutorials and gameplay videos. Frag movies are not very good lesson tools, but there are some greatgameplay videos that give a better account of the players’ techniques. Practice Practice is pretty obvious, butthere are a couple of techniques that you can use that most people wouldn’tthink of. Obviously, you can practicealone doing mobility maneuvers like strafe jumping, side to side strafing whileshooting at a stationary object, learning weapon recoil, and learningmaps. And you can also practice yourgame by going against other players of slightly better skill level. I find you can get a lot moreuseful gun to gun combat experience in relatively small instant action or teaminstant action maps where killing is constant. These rounds are intense, brain numbing at times, and can even wear outyour hand muscles if you are learning a new technique that you haven’t gotaccustomed to yet. A slightly more “outside the box”method you can use is to limit yourself in certain clever ways. If you are having trouble aiming properly andwant to improve that, grab a pistol or a shotgun instead of a scar and goagainst some guys at your level and see if that doesn’t force your aim toimprove. If you are having troublegetting used to side to side strafe dodging, turn off your “forward” button sothat you have to go sideways for an entire round. This type of stuff will help improve musclememory in those fingers, allowing you to get the hang of it more quickly thanif you tried adding it to your normal run straight forward mentality. You can also overdo certain things even whenthey are not necessary (like proning over and over even when at close range) ifyou have trouble pressing the buttons quickly and effectively. If I were to recommend a goodtraining regiment, I would do the following in a 1 hr period at least a couple oftimes per week: -Find a server with skilledplayers (usually a server with clan members in it) -Spectate the best players in 3 to5 minute intervals for 20 minutes -Join the game and focus onpracticing something you learned or something you’ve been trying to improve for20 minutes -Then just have goofy fun for 20minutes -Repeat if necessary I find this to be very helpful inlearning quickly but not getting burnt out on learning too quickly. This ends the lesson on Spectatingand Practice.
  20. Agreed
  21. I have the same problem...nobody to play with I have managed to get up to a 2v3 while playing and it is ok, but it really needs to be 4v4 or 5v5 to be fun and more balanced. I'd love to get a dozen or so in the server for an evening to see how it plays out. PS you should come into vent more often...usually if i'm looking for a game i'll jump in vent and play in another server until someone else joins vent.
  22. Hmmm sounds nice...I will be looking into this soon.
  23. OK cool. Current mapcycle: poolday_v2 IA Steelmill_PODS PODS Capture Mod (PS) Sang9_Aimgauss IA Contain IA Arabic city TIA Aimmapv2 IA Crossing snipe TIA sang9_aimmap XI IA Dust TIA EDIT: Ray that video has been recorded using Crysis 1 MP instead of wars. You can tell by the way the player uses the pull up jump bug to get on ledges a bit too high for a normal jump. Therefore there are some things a bit different as far as mobility there compared to wars. Is there anything in particular you are wondering about in the video? On a further note that player Reneki was one of my old tournament clan mates from IMP. He always loved to punch the whole round...and usually won doing it. Very skilled player Reneki was.
  24. Yeah sang9 aimmap wouldn't work either because of no spectator point...but it had cry file so I went in and added a spec point (and changed one of the metal containers to reduce campability). So now it works fine. New junkyard's textures do not load properly for me and there are poorly placed solids so I think I'll remove it and put up aim gauss. Any word on getting facing worlds ctf back up? Not to be a bother but we much need some variety in game modes I think.
  25. Oh yes I meant to add crossing snipe but didn't see it when I was looking through maps...will have to look a little harder. I was worried about reflection being too big but we can give it a try. I don't have desert aim...but I might have aimgauss so I'll see if I can get it up too. Yes good fun as always
