either pistols or all weapons
Cygon replied to sabreeyes's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
Map removed from rotation upon restart. -
Not enough interest in those maps to warrant paying for a server for it.

Agreed...CoastCTF is quite fun...we should try it on hardcore. -
Mixed server changes? (plus video's)
Cygon replied to X-RayXI's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
Its time to remove the jump maps I just hadn't thought of any maps to replace them with. Of course I don't really care what goes up as long as people enjoy it . -
I suppose I'm mostly to blame for the santuary...but let me explain the reasoning. Bloody santuary as it was had horible performance, so I put it in a visarea and tweaked the lighting to cut down on overlapping light radii. These overlapping lights cut performance down signficantly. This also added to the ambience of a bloody sanctuary in my mind, as it should be somewhat dark and eery. Hopefully the performance is a bit better (although it is to large of an indoor area to get great performance). I also removed the rocks that made up the ceiling and used a voxel in their place (there were several hundred rocks and that was alot to render). Voxels are not known for great performance, but they are better than a thousand objects stacked inside of each other. I also reworked some of the particles to improve performance. As for the weapons. This is an ongoing issue as we have mixed feelings and have had mixed reports from players on this subject. We talked internally about the rifles in that map and agreed that they should be removed to cut down on the camping. Some maps are better suited for rifles, but sanctuary encouraged extreme camping. This is not final and furthur changes may be made in the future if necessary.

Ok guys now we are finding out that there will be no driveable vehicles in C2 multiplayer. They have dropped the player limit from 32 to 12. What are yall's thoughts? Most of you guys know that I'm more of an infantry guy, but I hate to see such a large part of Crysis get ditched. I know the vtols were a major problem, and there was a tendency for people to rely on tanks too heavily. However, I figured that they would have kept powerstruggle as one of the game modes with vehicles but removed them in all new game modes. I assume that we will be able to mod more than 12 players for a server, but the way things are going I just don't know anymore. I'm getting less and less enthused about the future of Crysis.

Rofl at hitting trees all the time...I used to have that problem bad myself. Besides, we are idiots...we're not supposed to get everything. We're just supposed to have a fun not doing it .

I know most of you guys don't care for trick jumping in Crysis...but for those of you that do, here is a walkthrough of Jump_4. If you've had trouble with certain jumps this might help you figure them out, if not you can always ask me if you are interested in learning.

CRYSIS WARS LAG IN GAME ??????
Cygon replied to Markoff's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
I'm bottlenecked by my core 2 duo ...graphics card never gets over 70 percent usage and 60 percent fan, but cpu stays above 85 percent...95 percent on large maps with lots of people. -
CRYSIS WARS LAG IN GAME ??????
Cygon replied to Markoff's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
yeah i still get some lag with my gtx 465 on high settings, but when i turn em down a bit it is smooth as a baby's butt. -
Yeah Ray I know beta is not a demo...but, I had hoped that we could give some valuable feedback that Crytek would actually listen to and potentially fix before the release. Instead of us loyal PC gamers giving advice that makes the game fun, balanced, and challenging, console gamers will have the largest influence. This means that the game will probably be catering to that audience. I don't have much confidence in the gameplay for a console being the basis for the gameplay for the game on PC. Why anyone would play fps or rts on a console beats me. Think of it this way: Lets say the inventor of pool (billiards) uses cubes instead of balls. The inventor decides to offer a beta to a group of people in Canada to get advice on how to improved the game. Being from a place where hockey is king of sports, the Canadians could very likely recommend that the inventor make the table slicker (like ice) to help the cubes slide better, rather than recommending the most obvious correction which is of course to change the cubes to a ball so they roll. Who knows what the consolers will push when they get to test. I am excited about the new game modes, but the fact is: if the gun to gun action is not fun...people will quit quickly. If the gun to gun action is not balanced...people will quit after a short period. If the gun to gun action is not challenging, people will quit after a little while because they get bored. If it is too hard people will quit before they have any fun. These are the things I worry about now that they are catering to a new audience. The most important facet of the game for me is the challenge because I like to play over and over, a console audience wants to play for a few weeks and be done. It is also much more difficult to do anything on a game pad which means players will give up more easily if it is too hard. For a 3 month old baby it is inconcievable to run a mile, so crawling would be a better challenge. For a 20 year old athlete, running a mile should be a good light work out, but being forced to crawl would be a mundane and pointless experience.

I don't know I still haven't seen any balls to the wall power/speed jumps that gets my juices flowing. I love the new wall pull up feature and the new melee options, but I want to see some incredible flying jumps. The kill streak gun ship really turns me off too. I can't see if the recoil/spread issue has been improved or if they left it like in wars. The games seems a bit to Cod to me...not that I don't like Cod but we already have....what 7 of them to choose from (soon). Plus wth is with this 360 exclusive beta...I don't mind not having a beta but come on. Sounds too much like a sell out to me. I will not be making any pre orders anytime soon.

Crysis 2 Multiplayer Debut
Cygon replied to BlackOp8's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
Yah I'm getting less enthused after seeing this. Feels like the game is getting dumbed down, slowed down, and catered towards mainstream console kids. Some of the features like the scoring system and the new gamemodes sound very promising, but it feels like they are leaning away from the core gameplay. For me the most important part is the game play...is it fun and challenging and replayable for months or years to come? Great graphics and a neat ranking system are nice additions, but not if you scrap the things that make Crysis truly unique. We have enough Cod games...I think we can all agree to that. -

Mappers to get a Sti**y,....
Cygon replied to X-RayXI's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
Oh man...no stiffy but at this rate I'll never get to play C2 multiplayer Will be addicted to mapping. A couple of notes about the vids: -I love the new lighting features, the deffered lighting is very subtle but adds a new level of realism. -The thermal is the best thing evar. I think Crytek obviously copied my ideas from Mycrysis when I said thermal vision should be added to C2. I just hope they don't fail and make cloak invisible on thermal...that would be rediculous. In the same token thermal will have to be pricy to keep cloak useful, or have a short use period so ppl can't just run around with it enabled. -The textures and environment look rich to me. There is alot of attention to detail (which is typical for Crytek). There were far less structural material to work with in C1 so it is hard to find good stuff to work with on indoor and urban environments, but it looks like there will be more than enough to keep us occupied for lots of stuff in C2. -

It looks like they gowing with some different version of the suit. Maybe you start with the "base" suit shown which has limited functions. But maybe the different "classes" that have been mentioned have something to do with how you can modify the suit or even if you can upgrade to NS 2.0. They mentioned having it that way prior to C1, maybe they didn't have time to do it then so they are implementing it now. Should be interesting to see what direction they are going here. Multiplayer showing is what I've been waiting for the whole time. -

Crysis HC Tourny Map suggestions
Cygon replied to WiZiD's topic in Crysis Wars's Crysis Wars Discussion
I don't know what maps were used last time because I was away . I also don't know the layout of the tourney, so I don't know how many maps will be needed. But I vote for: Junkyard Treehouse Cellar -

Yah I don't want to wait that long but at least they should have time to work out most of the bugs. I am hoping we see the beta this fall, which should give them plenty of time for fixing problems before release. -
Yeah those guys have been around a while and were on the mixed server every day there for a while. I have never seen anything that made me suspicious except that they are clearly very skilled players. All 4 of those guys are in the top 7 for cumulative score for the mixed server, so you could say that have had some practice. If I'm not mistaken the _pl refers to the fact that they are polish, as rus refers to russian players. It would be good to get in contact with them. They don't quite fit in with the "family" attitude we have around here, but that is to be expected with a language barrier.
