  1. Just ordered these! I'm tired of getting jabbed by hooks and having my lures tangle. And these are made in the USA too. http://www.alsgoldfish.com/Bulk_hook_bonnets_p/bonnet-set.htm
  2. Hey tack on another year! Happy Birthday!

  4. Awesome, there would be no issue with a Great Lake Atlantic Salmon the issue her in NB is with the wild stock that run to the ocean and head north east to the area near Greenland. I would say enjoy every salmon you catch in the Great Lake system. You folks have a great healthy fishery, I'm jealous lol! Here is one I returned several years ago!
  5. Happy Frig-gen Birthday Texas
  6. Bert that Salmon if it was sea run would be called a Grilse (a young salmon that has gone to sea for only 1 year the vast majority are males). Since the early 80's here in New Brunswick we were only allowed to kill these young grilse. Now for the last 3 years we are 100% hook and release.
  7. Dadda is a cradle robber! Happy Birthday Sandradee

  9. Well my new Cabela's rod and reel showed up, the reel is great BUT THE ROD HAS BEEN SENT BACK there was very little glue under the reel seat and the seat moved quite badly. I sent the rod back this morning. So last night knowing the rod was going back I went to a local shop and bought a Penn BATSF1220S80 8 foot 2pc rod very nice http://www.tackledirect.com/penn-batsf1220s80-8ft-2pc-spinning-surf-rod.html

  14. I did not weigh it I am guessing 3.5-4 pounds. That is just a gripper to hold as the teeth will cut you up bad. He got my brother and he bled for 10 min.
  15. this looks like a Pike but it is called a Chain Pickeral. These are smaller than a pike and on rare occasion grow to 30 inches. This one I caught is considered pretty big for the area.
  16. Thanks for the great info. I think I have some of these lures, I'll make sure to pick a few more. I have about a 100 yards left of a 1500 yard spool of Power PRO green braid left. I'll be using that for my line.....I really like the Power Pro! http://www.cabelas.com/product/PowerPro-Braided-Fishing-Line-Yards/739255.uts?searchPath=%2Fbrowse.cmd%3FcategoryId%3D734095080%26CQ_search%3Dpower%2Bpro

  21. Well I just added a coating of lard to the grills to season them and cooked up these tasty bits. Mmm! I used Royal Oak briquettes, I'll get to the lump charcoal eventually.
  22. I have purchased 2 of the Weber fire starter Chimneys, one for the house and one fir the camp. They work awesome just with 2 pieces of news paper! i have never seen a hot box in my area and never heard of before this post. I suppose I Gould just use the Weber chimney in a safe place to start some new charcoal as needed. The chimneys I purchased are the larger size. do you have a link to a hot box?
