On the plus side, new build fired right up & everything worked perfectly. Only error was having to go into bios to reset date & time. Kloppix booted her up, got on the internet immediately, saved everything off the old drive, good to go. Booted into Win7 32bit, chipset wasn't recognized, no internet, no ethernet drivers, heck with that. Did a clean install of Win7 64 bit, installed drivers, and was off and rolling.
Typed in my key (oem) no good. Pulled out my copy of win 10 (w/key) operating system has expired, use repair disk or usb rescue.
Living & learning. Can't reuse an oem key on a new motherboard, and oem versions of windows can't be used to change versions (win7 32 pro to win7 64 pro). If you did install win10 from their upgrade offer, it ain't going onto a new build, at least not w/out juggling dates & times in BIOS.
Looks like purchasing a new key is my option for today.
