Well, that's the attempt of Activision to get rid of Modern Warfare. I suspect if you ask them, the answer would be: Play Ghosts! I am wondering if the Modern Warfare dedicated servers need a master server like Counter Strike does?

Is it a bluescreen? Please provide us with more information about the System. Is it a fresh Windows XP installation? (with Service Pack 3?) Did he play the game before on this PC? I couldn't find any information with google. Only some "fatal errors" regarding Far Cry or Microsfoft .NET Framework 4.0. Maybe the Microsoft Installer (MSI) is damaged.

Was the same for me. I used Win XP Professional for years and didn't want to change to win 7. Then there was a game that wasn't compatible with Win XP. (Modern Warfare 3?) That was day X for me. And now? I love it! I advised my brother-in-law that he should change to Win 7 because the support for Win XP ends in April '14. He said "Yes, yes..." ("Ja, ja!" in German) And "Ja, ja!" has a second meaning here in Germany: "Kiss my ass" He doesn't care about that his PC will become more and more a security risk for himself and others. Really sad. The last time he called me and said that he has some issues with his machine and that Firefox and IE are slow like hell. I found at least 8(!) toolbars in each browser. He (ans his son) don't care what tools they install and what they have aboard.

Now it's getting really stragne. I connected with Teamviewer to this PC and et voila: There is an output device. I am getting old.. Too old for this I gave up after hours of trying and now it works. I have no idea why....

That's the point: I can not select any output device. The Realtek sound manager detects speakers or a headset when I plug it in. Sound input and MIDI work well. As I said. This is weird

Well, the sound worked before i reinstalled Windows. (it was a cracked and infected Win XP Professional before)
