When I started playing Cod 5 I got an error message. "Profile already exists". The solution I found was: - create a new folder with your desired name - change the content of the blabla.txt (I can't remember the name right now) to your profile name. First I missed the second step and it didn't work. That's the reason for my my previous post. May be this text file contains the active profile and it is not necessary to change it if you select the profile in-game. Who knows... I thought it might be a useful hint in case the rename doesn't work.

The folder contains a text file with your profile name. I guess you will have to change it to your new name too.

Type !like or !dislike within the chat to vote for a map. The map change vote for CoD 4 contains a security bug that has never been fixed by Activision. I think this is one reason why it isn't active.

I had this issue too. I found out that - how ever - the game was running twice. I killed one of the processes and continued playing.

Nope all servers are up and running. How do you connect to the servers? Do you use the server in-game server browser? Did you try to connect directly to a server using the console or HLSW? It might be possible that you (your games) can not connect to the master servers due to routing issues of your ISP or one of it's carriers.

As Dean said, a bit more information would be helpful. Is it a "normal" shutdown? Does this happen when you play games or when the system is idle or when you surf the web?
