  1. I din't say that you're wrong Your post is very useful! I know the Win cmd well. The howto is very detailed, and easily understandable. Bot not every "normal" user is able to detect bad files or to distinguish such files from system-related ones. I just wanted to clarify that everyone has to know what he/she does, especially when deleting files within the Windows folders. Regarding SyncBack: I'm using the free edition without having any problems. Didn't benchmark this tool until now.
  2. There is a nice Tool called "SyncBack". This prorgram will backup any Files / Folders you want, both: full and incremental. There are three versions availabale: Free, Personal Edition and a company edition) You can schedule the backups etc.... http://www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/index.html My personal opinion: Using a restore point is one way to try to remove crap. But if the Virus etc has found his way into "System Volume Information" (e.g. the antivirus tool didn't detect it before a new restore point has been created) you can not be 100% sure, that the restore point is clean. I personally would never trust a system again that has been infected with such crap. Save your Data re-install. Regardless if the virus has been removed or not. I would not call into question what you say Psycho, please do not misunderstand. Greetings Nightfly (working for a big european managed services provider; responsible for Inhouse-IT, dedicated and managed servers)
  3. Thank you guys
  4. The specs sound nice. How much will it cost I would take this, if the price is ok. But I think the hardware components are destroyed faster than there will be applications or games which brings this system continuous to its limits. ^^ I've an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz with 4,00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 401MHz (5-5-5-18). If I'm plaing MW3, there are ~ 30-40% ressources used, same with BF Bad Company 2. I'm playing with the GTX 560 from Gainward. No Problems, even Crysis2 runs perfect on HD resolution (1920x1080) and maximum grapic details. But do not take the 560 Ti Phantom (passively cooled). I would not trust any video card, which has not at least one fan. ^^ (my own opinion)
  5. Hi Keith, welcome. I had the same prob with Cod4 (MW). After download an loading a map, i get disconnected and have to rejoin the server. Don't know if this is the same. A 2nd try is always successful and i can play until the next mapchange. I think this is caused by the redirect server which delivers the maps for each game. Think after you downloaded the most or all maps you wouldn't get this error again. @ADMs: correct me if I'am wrong. Greets Nightfly
  6. Some german stuff? Listen: http://youtu.be/43h_0kMXqCg
  7. Thx @ Astronomer - as I said: stupid question ^^ I only administraded Valve's Source servers in the past. There is no swaying in the scope view (wish the Source engine would support that). I didn't know that it can be deactivated on server side. If there will be a new voting, and my vote would count, I'd say no. I think this makes sniping too easy. And it would play into the hands of potential campers, when they don't have to "get air" (Although so far I have not seen one ...) Maybe I see it too tight :/
  8. Fu**ing scareware... How ever: I personally wouldn't trust a system anymore, which has been infected with such a crap. In this cases, secure your data to an external HDD or flash drive and re-install Windows, even if your anti-virus program has removed the shit. Who knows if there is such other crap in background like keyloggers, other spy- or malware which has not been detected by Gdata & co. (I know, I am a little bit paranoid )
  9. Sabreeyes, Yop, Evil-Monkey and PimpedOutPete of course: thank you, too )
  10. mscorjit.dll is part of the MS .NET framework and it is used for a "just-in-time" compiler. I suggest you try to run a game via Steam? Before you try to re-install the complete .NET-Software in all versions, try to figure out which application causes this error, and which .NET Version it is using. Then re-install this version. I saw many Steam games which are using .NET 2 or three furthermore. If this doesn' help, try to reinstall all versions you've installed on your PC.

  14. Hi @ all Hope somebody has an idea. I started playing on the Ace mod server today. And even I'm not the best player i had a lot of fun. But there was onething which frustraded me a little: i got disconnected after every map change. After the map has been downloaded and the map ready i got an error message: clc..... server expected command: a normally reliable command was not executed. (or something like that). This also can be reviewed in the server stats: http://banbutton.com/xlrstats/?func=player&playerid=743&config=8 Any idea? Greetings Nightfly
