  1. I have clients that request content filtering, and we end up using a program called forticlient. It is a security suite created Fortinet, they make business class routers. It has AV and a firewall but I usually just use the web filter because the AV is kinda awful. It can be configured and password protected so settings cannot get modified. It is a free download.
  2. Welcome to the forums! I look forward to some more great games with you on the BF server.
  3. I am a junior at MSOE working on my MIS degree. Like the rest of you I don't really play during the semester and only play during breaks
  4. Try running combofix. It is a virus removal tool. http://www.bleepingc...nload/combofix/ It does a very thorough scan and cleanup. The company I work for uses it quite a bit for infected client machines and it works pretty well. I also like to use the AVPtool from kaspersky. Also if you are having issues removing MS software, microsoft used to have a tool to remove products with broken installers (msicuu2.exe you might still be able to find a d/l for it somewhere). here is the article from MS on how to remove a broken copy of office http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
  5. those are some fancy sigs you guys have
  6. Honestly, you can't beat the deals in the steam sales. Because of that I don't think I have paid full retail price for a game in a very long time. I personally have no issues with steam. Origin and battlelog on the other hand is one of the most cumbersome pains in the ass for gaming I have come across. It is a shame because I play a ton of BF3.
  7. Are you using the built-in windows update to install it? have you tried downloading and installing the update manually? http://www.microsoft....aspx?id=35809. Is it the only update not installing or are others not working either? Also, the update is for changes in daylight savings time, so it is not a totally vital update but it could cause problems with your system if it is a member of a domain.
  8. Any time! Glad to hear that it is working good.
  9. Yea, that was some good fun. I just love how they stood around dumbfounded trying to figure out how we got in there
  10. I would try to get drivers from the manufacturer of the hardware. Using the device manager and getting the drivers from Microsoft and may or may not be the most updated. So, If you have an nvidia graphics card go to the nvidia site and download the latest driver from them. Also, if you could get me a copy of your memory dump, I could take a look to see what may be directly causing the issue. Here is a link to a tool that will pull all of your log files and the memory dump http://www.sevenforu...structions.html just run the WSF diagnostic tool and upload the reulting files to the forum here. After posting that info try doing the following: Run a check disk http://www.sevenforu...disk-check.html Run a Memory test. http://www.memtest.org/ http://www.memtest86.com/download.html http://oca.microsoft.../en/windiag.asp I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
  11. I would look at updating the drivers for your hardware. Maybe run a memory test and a hard drive test as well.
  12. Nice. that is some good advertising!
