So if i get it correct: you need to hire a contracter to repare your basement before they'll insure you again?

Well then look for a decent one (not the cheapest or so, but someone who has a good reputation).

But they have a lot of reassons for what is happening and that is something for a laywer if reparing it alone won't do.

This report dosen't sound good...I believe to repair properly you will have to jack the whole house up off the foundation and have new blocks laid or new walls poured...It is not a cheap process and requires a company specializing in that type of work...It is not all that uncommon of a problem in vintage homes especially in nothern climates because of the freezing and heaving of the earth and it was compounded by insufficient water drainage...I wish you luck my friend...SmileSmile

Eric

I have ben a General contractor for 35 years.

Sorry man but you need to get out of your house for your safety.

I know this is bad but what needs to happen is stabilize the house from the basement

relieve the pressure to the footings and make the house flat again.

then excavate the out side and expose all of the basement walls.

demo the footings and call an engineer to design a proper support for your house after

taking a compaction test of your soil.

It can be done but to be honest it would be cheaper to tear it down and build a new

home.

Like the other guys said you need an attorney.. I have done many expert witness

testimony for people that the insurance companies FUCK and I have never lost a case.

When did you buy the house?  Review your paperwork from when you purchased the house... most importantly the "seller's disclosure".   See if anything is mentioned about seepage or water in the basement.  Call your Congressman,  or Klobuchar , or Al Franken... (well,  maybe not Al :) ).  Get as many people involved as you can.  With all the stuff going on with the banks and improper foreclosures,  there is a political witch-hunt you may be able to use in your favor.  This is just another "BIG Company" screwing over the little guy.  Good luck!
