I built my current computer in November of 2004 and can still rock COD4 (just stripped to the bone) I got some money back on my taxes this year but spent a good chunk of it on a 23 yearold stripper (she was worth it, single dads deserve some fun sometimes too). Now i have some left and need to build up something to last me for a while. I'd like to go with: Phenom II Quadcore 3GHz + DDR3 Memory The hard part: I need to find a good mobo with decent on-board video and at least 1 PCIE x16 slot for a later graphics upgrade. sound does not matter, I use a USB headset. On-board NIC would be ok (if not i have extra cards) USB 3.0 if i can (for future use) Also I need a good O/S hardrive (nothing crazy big but fast would be great) and i need a power supply that will do the job and have enough to power the later graphics card. Any suggestions, recomendations, or advice would help. I'm looking at barebones / DIY kits for added value but have not yet found a good combo. total price range needs to stay in the low hundreds, and i'm not looking for the best of everything just a reliable update with room to expand later. Thanks for any help >XI< + friends ~Rob~

Seems to me to be one of the easiest things you can do later to expand. Add a graphics card, and still later you can add another. Hard drives you can usually find 500 gig easy and cheap, same with power supplies if you just get a good deal. Tiger direct has some pretty good deals sometimes with the case and psu plus I think over 100 bucks its free shipping. Another thought may be a smaller quad core CPU now and six core later. Should still be a ton better than you have, and when the prices come down its another cheap upgrade option. If any one has suggestions feel free to correct me as I am looking at decent build prices too.

I figure i can change cases later and just use a stock case i have from an old computer for now. the MOBO is proveing to be the hardest part as there are so many to chose from. I have a wishlist setup on new egg I'll post later. and the stripper was more fun to play with than the most 1337 rigg but the cost for playing was just too high to keep up ..LOL Also she was a Gamer an extra plus, we talked weapons and maps the whole time LOL

It's always better. I have experiences...

I got both and ATI sucks. 3 years old nVIDIA owned 6 months old ATI when both were overclocked. ATI HD5670 has 128-bit width and nVIDIA Geforce 9800GT has 256-bit.
