Cant wait. Midnight Releases & Launch Events The launch of Modern Warfare 3 is nearly upon us and to celebrate, various midnight releases and launch events are happening all over the world. Tomorrow is the big night, the night when hundreds of thousands of gamers all over the world start queueing up at stores to purchase a copy of Modern Warfare 3. Naturally lots of stores will be open at midnight with plenty of fun activities going on. Allie from Fanscape was kind enough to pass on information to us about GameStop's "Midnight Warfare" events that will be happening on Monday. According to the official press release, more than 4,400 GameStop stores in the US will be taking part in the event that leads up to the game's midnight release. Beginning at 8:00pm on Monday, attendees will be able to play the game before midnight and take part in various Call of Duty themed challenges. There's also the "Game For Less" promotion which allows customers to get it for less and pay it off fast with a 30% trade bonus on any game traded toward the purchase of Modern Warfare 3. There will also be two all-our Midnight Warfare events at marquee locations in LA (West Hollywood) and New York City (Union Square) where members of the game's development team will be in attendance to sign autographs and meet and greet fans. Modern Warfare 3 - GameStop's "Midnight Warfare" GameStop aren't the only ones holding midnight events, obviously. Retailers all over the world will be doing similar things. For example, a list of UK's GAME and Gamestation stores holding midnight releases can be read here and here. Check with your local retailer to see what they're planning. The big event however kicks off on Monday at 7pm GMT (UK time). Similar to last year's Black Ops UK launch event, there will be a big one for Modern Warfare 3 leading up to the game's release at midnight. The best thing about it is that anyone can watch it, even if you're not there in attendance. Example will be performing, there will be live gameplay, tournaments and interviews with Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, and various celebrities are bound to be attending. Also, if you're attending one of the midnight releases at GAME you could make a cameo appearance when the cameras and hosts pay a visit to see the anticipated fans queueing up for a piece of Modern Warfare 3. It's bound to be a great event and run-up to midnight, so watch it live on YouTube or Facebook tomorrow night. There's even a trailer for it which you can watch below.
