At least not for a while until i learn alot more about its settings and where I can tweak on it...

So the Phenom II X6 1100T is not a good choice for this mobo?

Do a little research on the Ram thing it could be possible someones using higher rated ram with 1 of those boards and a 1100T Cpu,who knows i mean i certainly dont take manufacturers words for gospel but its worth looking into what people are using.. I'm running an 1090T at the moment on an AM3 board with 1600 Mhz Ram and its a great cpu....Ive got it clocked at 3.9Ghz and its not even breaking a sweat but im planning on upgrading to the new AMD FX at some point in the very near future so im gonna be reasearching the same stuff..........its a ball ache to do but its worth it in the end.. So the Phenom II X6 1100T is not a good choice for this mobo? That's not what he's saying. He's saying that if you are going to use DDR3 1866 Mhz memory (or above), you have to install an AM3+ cpu.. according to the specs for this mobo. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4001&dl=1#sp Look at second tab 'specifications' under in the memory section. NOTE 2 applies (scroll to the bottom). You see this note: (Note 2) To support a DDR3 1866 MHz (and above) memory, you must install an AMD AM3+ CPU first. So, you either change the cpu you are going to use (blah), or get 1800 Mhz memory or below. Doing a quick search, the only memory I found (OK.. the first one I found) from the QVL for your board was this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231278 You could buy 4 sticks, and it's about the same price as what you were buying.. and it's on the list. You probably can't go wrong with any GSkill sticks 1800 and under, they are good stable memory. You gotta spend some time and read all the fine print. The folks here will give you lots of help if you ask There are a lot of dudes, including myself, that have built quite a few machines and can be a help to ya. BTW.. newegg has the mobo cheaper than amazon with free shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514 Good Luck. Awards

At least not for a while until i learn alot more about its settings and where I can tweak on it... that doesnt mean you have to oc your rig that mean the chips are oc'd to that setting. At least thats the way I understand it. somebody let me know if thats incorrect. and the 1100t is an am3 chip Awards

I cant figure out though why the new generation cpu's are cheaper than the older gen.... Thanks bama for clarifying what i said earlier. Awards
