I have two computers at  home with 2 different COD 2 games installed. The first  one is the regular COD2 game I bought many years ago.  I recently purchased a second copy from Steam  so I could play with my son, Joe Jr. online. My personal computer is down for a couple of days. I was wondering if it would be possible to use  joecanadian>XI<  on the second computer while I fix the first one without screwing up my son's settings. He tried to play after me, but his name would not be accepted anymore, it would be changed to "guest1" or "unknown player". Any ideas why this is happening? Is it a Steam or a  Punkbuster issue?

Thanks

Joe

joe me nd my boy share the same router (diff pc,s) with the same cod2 key and play at same time.....I would say install the 1st one with the same key .....keep steam as a back up.....if u have win 7 load disk cancel start up nd install thru ur drive rather then let it install itself and run as admin

Try the following things

1: let  Steam check the integrity of the game files.  (Right cklick the game -> properties)

2: close steam, go to your steam folder (C:\Program Files\Steam f.e.), rename the file "clientregistry.blob" to "clientregistry.blob.bak" or delete it. Don't bother, it will be recreated
when you restart the steam client. Login to his account.

Oh, and a friend of mine gets kicked with "key already in use"  (Steam Version, and a copy from a video shop) ^_^
