The latest minecraft version is 1.7.4 U can find it under in the left corner on the startup screen. Do you have a original liences of minecraft ? buyed on minecraft.net ? i know that once u have the game downloaded for free: it doenst support to go online on legal servers. can u go www.minecraft.net and login to her account. see if thats working for you.
