Had they failed to do so, the Serbs could have taken the city.Extracted from the French TV report "Infrarouge - Que sont nos soldats devenus?" available in YouTube (close caption version) This is the truth and the way it is (if you ever been under fire)... respect to all liberty soldiers... It's been a long time, but all of our foreign democratic troops should see that. Especially those who strikes without knowing what they strike (USAF, RAF, ARMEE DE L'AIR). I'm an Airborne retired soldier, been in bosnia as well, and i regret i couldn't take part, for honour and for what it changed that war. Pray for those who falled. Those are heroes. http://youtu.be/PAPox1A3F6U Edited March 15, 2014 by Sykorsky loaderXI and DEEJAYKEG 2 Awards

You are right to be proud of their service. However, to say that other men and women, of other countries, have not done the same is a faux pas. Many brave men and women from many nations have knowingly charged into the face of certain death for a cause, often a cause that is not their own, to secure the freedom and safety of innocents. I agree with your point that many nations today do not understand the true nature of a fight that is intimate such as this battle was. There would certainly be less conflict if it were all hand to hand. Let's not stain the accomplishment of these French troops with petty bickering of who has done more for a cause. Give them the honor they are due, among the past heroes of all nations who have stood against tyranny and secured a better future for those who cannot secure it themselves.
