I managed to port a weapon model over from CoD to CoD2. It's a Frag Nade from CoD SWAT Mod. Turned out pretty good aside from the color of the grenade being a brighter green. Perhaps this is because I only used the color map (UV Mapped Skin) and not those gray scale skins. Not sure how the other SWAT Mod weapons would render under CoD2 but there is only one way to find out.

Below is the attached picture of the grenade. I didn't add any custom animation as it didn't come with it.

Once I get around to it I'll post a tutorial on Moddb and Gamebanana on how to do this. I might add those two grayscale images in if they help the UV map render better.

I noticed that the Asset Manager only has room for one color map. So the model you are porting over must have the UV mapped skin on one single file.

I plain to port over all of the grenades from CoD SWAT Mod to CoD2. Doubt the primary and secondary weapons would turn out that well but I could try them later on.

Edit: render is fine checked it against CoD SWAT Mod and brightness is the same. Just hadn't played SWAT in forever.

The other two files are the normal map and specular map.

Yeah, but the model renders fine without them. I wounder why those two were added into the CoD2 file system. Maybe they give more shiny render with AA and AF?

I keep AA and AF off in CoD2. Due to a compatibility bug that renders the game unplayable with those settings.

File has been uploaded to gamebanana. Waiting for approval at Moddb.

I rarely use COD Utility as they are just maps only, last time I checked. I could use some more mirrors. Strategy Informer and Modsonline are not active. Modsonline seems to only care about MODSonair and neglected the hosting part. Is there any other sites besides gamebanana, moddb and COD Utility that I might want to host files on?

After the whole filefront almost shutdown thing, CoDFiles (Callofduty.filefront) has been dead due to bugs on the site.
