From my very first bike 50 years ago, in that entire time no one but me ever worked on my bikes, not so my cars I had no interest. I appreciate that modern machines are a lot more complicated which is a pity, but of course they are a lot more reliable, no round the world trips until the Japanese arrived. So yes it is very hard for garden shed mechanics nowadays. As for sex tried it twice, both times resulting in expenses I hadn't accounted for in my restoration projects, and then the fckrs liked football not getting dirty with dad?, times move on. B ack in the olden days everyone fixed their own bikes. Pride maybe, Today most people would rather just ride their bike probably because of lack of time and too busy, and when it breaks pay some one to fix it or just buy another one.
