A couple of years ago I obtained a Beretta 96D from an agency that I used to work for, however I wanted to tone it down a bit from the hot 40 S&W caliber.

I found some new-old stock USGI Beretta M9 parts and turned it into an "M9".

I later added an OEM G de-cocker kit (which was a pain in the ass).

It's now a part of my SHTF kit (along with a couple of other tools of the trade).

End result ...

In my state, it is considered a restricted firearm as well. It is a long process to purchase a handgun in Maryland. Once you have the mandated training certification, the MINIMUM is 7 days from date of purchase to bring it home, but it usually takes about two weeks. The state police handle it all. It's ridiculous.

Same issue here, State police are in charge of the "FOID" cards. Firearm Owners Identification Card. You have to pay a fee to exercise your rights. They're backlogged 6 months or so, but they assure your out of date card is still valid....yeah, ok.

Very nice, I am a big fan of Beretta.  Virginia is the next Maryland...or California.  Can't wait to bug out

Its quite the same here.

You have to be in a shooting gun club , you have to do i think two or three trainings and also provincial police look at your records before you can possess one.

Only right to carry it from your home to your shooting club is  permitted thats it.

NICE!! In my state had to replace my Browning Hi-Power factory supplied 15 round mags with 10 round ones that were not considered high capacity - the bull shit never ends.
