snaFU73 I would think any image editor would work. One thing I would like to know is: how do you add sound? Sound can be added to a sig using Flash, but if memory serves, we no longer support this on the site.

Hey Jack. There are a number of programs that work well for creating sigs. GIMP is a freeware that is not as powerful as some of the other options, but hey, it's free. Photoshop is the most popular, but it has a pretty hefty pricetag (unless you acquire it some other way ) I've heard the Corel software is pretty good as well, but I've never used it. As far as learning how to make sigs, I'm not nearly good enough myself to teach anyone, but I came across a website with some really neat tutorials: www.sigtutorials.com Hope this helps.
